Working at Disney World you run into a lot of different personalities and cultures. Each guest is different and we are trained to deal with all sorts of guests. There are funny guests, quite guests, rebellious guests, and many more. The guests are what help make the experience. Here are 12 guests that I remember dealing with during my College Program.
1. The super polite guest.
They are respectful of you and listen to your rules. They do not try and test you and are kind. These are one of the best guests.
2. The drunk one.
They are going from cast member to cast member trying to get under their skin. They do not follow the rules and think they can get away with it. These people can test you but do not show it.
3. The quiet guest.
You are friendly and ask this quest questions but they are so shy they say like 3 words to you. Just smile and make them feel comfortable.
4. The ignore you guest.
This guest will ignore anything you say. If you ask how they are doing they ignore you. Nothing you say will get them to notice you.
5. The chatty Cathy.
This guest will strike up a conversation with you and keep going and going. You do not want to be rude but they talk your ear off. Especially when your coordinator is watching you or you have to bump.
6. The crabby guest.
The heat or their crying children have made this guest in a bad mood. If they snap at you, just know it is not your fault. Try and make their day a little better with some kindness.
7. The enthusiast.
This guest is a die hard Disney fan. They are wearing their ears, pins, buttons, customs, the whole nine yards. Try and relate something to them and appreciate their love for Disney.
8. The not so patient guest.
Whether it be waiting in line for a ride or waiting for their food, guests can become very impatient. Just smile and be honest with them but in the Disney way. If the ride is down try and make a story that fits the theme of the ride. People will always be impatient but tell them you understand and are doing everything you can to get them on as soon as possible.
9. The inexpensive guests.
These guests want to spend as little money as possible. You can suggest things like getting a water cup from Starbucks because it is free or use your own phone to take pictures instead of using photopass. You can tell them to bring their own snacks to the park, which can save them a lot of money.
10. The adventurer.
Guests that like to do a lot are awesome. Suggest to them about doings things like the Waterparks, mini golf, or activities around their resort like move night, pool games, roasting marshmallows, or take a boat out onto the Seven Seas Lagoon. They can be so fun for kids and adults.
11. The not a thrill seeker guest.
These guests hate going on rides or roller coasters. Luckily Disney offers different rides. There are rides that have no thrill but are so fun or funny. Suggest to them It’s a Small World, The Great Movie Ride, Toy Story Mania, Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, The seas with Nemo & Friends, Living with the Land, Character Meet and Greets, and many more.
12. The food junky guest.
They love to eat. Disney has wonderful places to eat. Epcot especially is a great place to try different cuisines from around the world. Places like 50’s Prime Time Café, Chefs de France, Kona Café, Liberty Tree Tavern, Nine Dragons Restaurant, The Garden Grill, Le Cellier Steakhouse, and many other places are to die for.
