Christmas is coming and the shopping just is not done. Am I right? Perhaps you have not decided what you want for Christmas this year? Well, if you are like me, not only do you buy presents for other people, you purchase most of your own presents from other people as well. So, what are you thinking of purchasing for this upcoming holiday? If you are lacking ideas, then this list is for you. Here are the presents that I bought for others and for myself. If you need help wrapping your presents, check out my article on wrapping!
1. Lush
It may be a bit weird to give someone a beauty or bath product because they may think that you are implying that they need a bath. But there is nothing I love giving or receiving more than Lush. Giving the gift of relaxation in a fresh, handmade, and organic product could not be better.
2. Cookbook
For the chef or baker, a recipe book is just a gift that keeps on giving. Heck, give a recipe book to someone who cannot cook so they gain a new skill. Try to find one that could actually provide new recipes or would be a cuisine type they are interested in.
3. Alcohol
Alcohol is probably the easiest gift to give to anyone on your shopping list. You can make an alcohol basket filled with a few large bottles and a lot of mini bottles. Or you can give a nice wine paired with a wine glass. The wine glass really adds class to this present.
4. Bark Box
Some people are so hard to please when it comes to the holidays because they hate present--can you say clutter much? But everyone loves their pets. So you can give your loved ones a gift that is actually for their little furry friend and everyone is happy! Bark Box is a monthly subscription box for dogs at a very reasonable price.
5. Polaroid Camera
Polaroid cameras were really hip back in the day and now they are considered to be retro. While it is extremely hard and expensive to get your hands on an authentic and vintage Polaroid, you can get a Fujifilm Instax Mini for about $60 depending on the color and vendor.
6. Nerd Block
When you have a nerd that you are not really sure what to give, try the Nerd Block subscription. It is a monthly mixture of all things nerdy--there are even categories of nerd obsessions like a Sci-Fi or horror box, at such a good price. Plus, if you do enough research, you can find a hint about what will be in the box.
7. DVDs
If you are trying to find a present for an adult, DVDs are not really a bad choice. You can find one of their favorite TV shows that no longer airs and give it to them. They will be happy you remembered their show and be excited to relive memories from the past.
8. School Themed Items
What could be better than returning to school in January with some cute mascot themed items? If you are as lucky as I am, then your school's mascot is a hot commodity currently and you can find adorable things like these. If your school is Marist, try TJ Maxx for the blanket and wrapping paper and Starbucks for the coffee mug.
9. Weird Random Things
Kikkerland has so many random but cute items that anyone would love. From kitchenware to stationary items, this company has it all. For the weird college student like myself, any of these items could be a good present. Who does not want cactus shaped dryer buddies to get rid of the static in their laundry?
10. Money
People are always asking what to give you. It can be rather annoying if you are me and you never want anything. The solution? Give them that green. Money is perfect because I can save it and spend it on something I need later on. Plus, I feel rich for a while.
11. Christmas Items
During Christmas, you can give anyone a Christmas decoration and it is okay. Ornaments are probably the easiest and safest thing you can give anyone. You can find an ornament with a theme for the person and even put their name on it. Bonus points if the ornament is bought abroad!
12. Ugly Christmas Hat
Some people can get really festive during the holidays and those are usually the ones who wear Christmas themed clothes. Instead of having to go about the holiday with only your ugly Christmas sweater, pair it with a nice ugly hat.
