Crafty Morning

It's that time of year where all of us are looking for the perfect gifts for friends and family, but especially for our parents. And mostly for your dad. Mom is always pretty simple --some perfume or a cute homemade gift. But what about dad? If you're struggling to find the perfect gift for your dad this holiday season, here are 12 ideas that might work great for you.

1. Pocket knife

Now, maybe this isn't for all dads, but I know that my dad almost always has his pocket knife on him. And he also seems to go through a lot of them because he tends to misplace it or get it taken away at the airport. A pocket knife is something practical that he always seems to need!

2. Wallet

Wallets are also something that all dads seem to always be carrying with them. If your dad's wallet is starting to get old and broken, this is a great gift for him this holiday season!

3. Golf balls and tees

If your dad is a golfer, this is a great gift for him! Golf balls and tees are gone through pretty quickly, so this would definitely be a much-appreciated gift.

4. Puzzles

My dad absolutely LOVES puzzles. Whenever we go somewhere, that is one souvenir we always seem to get. Not only are you giving him something to do that he would enjoy, but you can also spend some quality time with your dad and complete the puzzle with him! Any dad would love that.

5. Tools

If your dad is the handy man, you can't go wrong with tools. More nails, extra screws, a new hammer, and maybe a tape measure? Practical, useful, and a great gift for any dad, especially if your mom is asking for house renovations for Christmas!

6. Movies

Another thing that many dads love is movies. There are so many new movies coming out every year, you are bound to find one that your dad hasn't seen yet that would probably interest him. And, one more perk about a movie? You can pick one out that you would enjoy too, and spend some quality time with your dad watching the movie and eating popcorn!

7. A picture frame

If you're daddy's little girl then what better gift than a picture frame decorated by you with a picture of you two together? Even if you're a guy, a cool frame with a picture of the family is something that your dad could put up in his office or have on his night stand that I'm sure he would absolutely love.

8. A tie or dress shirt

If your dad is a businessman or has reason to frequently dress up, you can't go wrong with this gift. Odds are your dad probably won't go out and buy these things for himself, so a new shirt and tie is always a great gift!

9. Nice gloves and hat

If you live somewhere where the weather gets pretty cold in the winter, gloves and a hat are always a practical gift for anybody. A nice pair of gloves and a warm hat for your dad can help keep him toasty while he is out shoveling the snow during the winter season!

10. Food or candy

Salsa, beef jerky, nuts, or candy. You really can't go wrong with food for your dad! Pick out some of his favorites and put them together in a package for a yummy gift!

11. Portable phone charger

My dad spends quite a bit of time on his phone, whether it be for work or spending time on social media. A portable phone charger is a super practical gift for dads who are on the go and need to have their phone on them, especially to communicate with their kids!

12. Anything homemade

Whatever you get your dad, he is guaranteed to love, especially if it comes from you. That's one great thing about parents; you could get them almost anything and they will always appreciate it, especially if it comes from your heart. Happy gift shopping!

8 Things I Realized After My First Semester In College

Actually, Kylie Jenner, 2018 is the year of realizing things.

The first semester of college is famous for being one of the most difficult transitions of one's young adult life. You're thrown into a completely new area where the majority of the people surrounding you are strangers in an academic environment that's much more challenging then what you've grown accustomed to for the past twelve years. On top of that, you probably share a room with another person (or even multiple people) on the lumpiest "mattress" you've ever slept on.

With this change comes a lot of questions: what do I want to major in? What am I passionate about? Is what I'm passionate about something I'm actually good at? Why does the bathroom smell like cranberry juice and vodka? What is that thing at the bottom of the shower drain?

6 Unrealistic Expectations Society Has For Young Adults

Don't let the thesaurus-inspired vocabularies in our résumés fool you. We're actually just big kids.

Well over four feet tall and 100 pounds in weight, many of us "young adults" of the world still consider ourselves children. Big, working, college-attending, beer-drinking children. We may live on our own, know how to cook noodles, and occasionally use a planner, but don't be fooled; the youthful tendencies that reside within us still make their way into our daily lives. From choosing to stay up until 3:00 a.m. playing video games on a school night to going out in 30 degree weather without a coat, we still make decisions that our parents and grandparents would shake their heads at in disappointment. So why are we expected to know exactly how to be a wise, professional, sensible adult? It's not that we're irresponsible (for the most part, anyway). It's that we are young, inexperienced, and still have the sought-after, enthusiastic mentality that we can do and be whatever we want, which has not yet been tarnished by the reality of the world. These are just a few of the unrealistic expectations that society has for young adults.
