12 “Friday Night Lights” Actors That Appeared In Other Popular Shows

1. Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler)

In addition to playing the beloved Coach Taylor, Kyle Chandler guest starred in four Grey’s Anatomy episodes as Dylan Young (a member of the bomb squad that helps save Seattle Grace).

2. Tami Taylor (Connie Britton)

This one is obvious. Connie Britton is currently played a lead role in the hit TV show Nashville.

3. Jason Street (Scott Porter)

Scott Porter is another FNL character who landed a pretty big part on another TV show. He plays George Tucker in the CW series Hart of Dixie.

4. Brian "Smash" Williams (Gaius Charles)

Gaius Charles also played Dr. Shane Ross, one of the interns in the later seasons of Grey’s Anatomy.

5. J.D. McCoy (Jeremy Sumpter)

This one isn’t from a TV show, but it’s close enough. As a kid, did you ever watch the non-animated version of the movie Peter Pan? Well if you did, then you probably recognize this quarterback as Peter Pan himself.

6. Carlotta Alonso (Daniella Alonso)

Carlotta was a recurring guest star on Friday Night Lights. She played a nurse who came to care for Matt’s grandmother, and in the process she fell for the adorable Matt Saracen. Apparently one heartthrob wasn’t enough for her, though, because before FNL, she played Anna Taggarro on One Tree Hill, where her character dated Lucas Scott.

7. Noelle Davenport (Jana Kramer)

Jana Kramer played a small part on FNL as Smash’s Girlfriend in season 2, but you probably remember her as the crazy model Alex Dupre from One Tree Hill. Oh, and fun fact, she is a country music artist as well.

8. Bird Merriweather (Lorraine Toussaint)

Lorraine Toussaint plays Jess’s Aunt, Bird Merriweather, in Friday Night Lights. Toussaint can also be seen in the hit Netflix original series Orange Is The New Black, where she plays the villainous Yvonne "Vee" Parker.

9. Cash (Zach Roerig)

In FNL, Roerig plays a cowboy that Tyra dates for a brief period of time. Most of you probably know him as Matt from The Vampire Diaries, though.

10. Ran Lowry (Matt Barr)

Matt Bar has a minor role in season 4 of Friday Night Lights as Ran Lowry, a cute Habitat for Humanity leader that Julie has a crush on. What Barr is most likely remembered for, however, is psycho Derek on One Tree Hill.

11. Noah Barnett (Austin Nichols)

Austin Nichols only stars in one or two episodes of FNL as a teacher and faculty advisor of the school paper who develops a close relationship with Julie. Nichols most famous role, though, was Julian Baker on One Tree Hill.

12. Chris Kennedy (Matt Czuchry)

Remember when Lyla decided to become really involved with the church and got a job on a Christian radio station? Well, the boy that she meets there—and dates for a little while—also plays Logan, the love interest of Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
