These 12 first wintertime feelings are sure to be a part of your holiday season. They're those inevitable moments when you say to yourself -- "wow, it is 100 percent, positively, no doubt about it ... winter!" What's your favorite winter feeling?

1. You first see your breath outside.

You wonder at first if it's just fog or someone's smoke, but soon you realize that cloud was your breath. 100 percent. Winter has come.

2. You first recognize 97.1 has gone all Christmas. Nonstop.

Of course it makes sense the radio is playing Christmas music! It's October 1. Why was I surprised?

3. You first turn on ABC family to see that the 25 Days of Christmas program has begun.

Hello? It's me. I'd like to cancel all meetings that begin 8 p.m. and later during the month of December. Yeah, I'll be busy. Thanks.

4. You first see an Eskimo: that fully dressed friend with the ear muffs, cotton gloves, scarf, hat, boots, and yes, hand warmers.

No judgement here. Yes, you look like you came out of a cave in 1930 with that hat, but it's the smartest way to go.

5. You first slip on the ice from one of the inevitable storms.

The moment you first slip on ice entails several emotions: panic, disbelief, wonder, pain, and finally, if you're lucky, acceptance. It happens. Be one with the ice slips -- they happen to everyone.

6. You first order a hot chocolate from Starbucks.

Hi, I know it's October 1 still, but I just heard Christmas music on the radio and I'd like a venti hot cocoa please. Extra whipped cream.

7. You first struggle scraping snow off of your car after forgetting to have given it shelter before the storm.

Parking it smack-dab in the open with zero coverage may have been your finest idea yet.

8. You first recognize finals are in a month.

Is it just me, or did the past three months fly by? On that note, where did the last 10 years go? Where's my juice box and goldfish baggy that my mom packed for me to bring to kindergarten just yesterday?

9. You first recognize you get to go home and see your family and dogs soon for break.

Taylor Swift knows this feelings all too well. "Say you'll remember me." Please.

10. You first see your neighborhood shopping center is decked out in garlands and bow ties.

That bow tie on that street light looks slightly adorable.

11. You first see Costco is decked out in artificial Christmas trees.

I knew this day would come, but not so soon. Who made this decision? It feels like it's still August!

12. You first experience a 50 mph wind gust knocking you to the ground.

I didn't see that coming, and I'm not pretending that I did. Can someone call 911 and get me a stretcher? Thanks.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
