1. After years of random symptoms getting worse and constant ailments and illness, a doctor suggests you may have a form of Dysautonomia called Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia syndrome (POTS).
2. To diagnose, they schedule a tilt table test. Apparently some people projectile vomit across the room because they get so symptomatic.
3. Actually going through the tilt table test and get all the symptoms and your blood pressure drops to 64/20.
4. When you've been told its all in your head or anxiety since middle school and you've finally gotten a definite diagnosis to explain your problems.
5. But then you find out there's no cure and you can only treat the symptoms.
6. The doctor prescribes you heart medications that your grandmother takes.
7. Struggling with the new normal your life is becoming
8. Trying to educate yourself as much as possible on what POTS is
9. Having to now explain what POTS is to all of your friends and family
10. When people start saying "Have you tried...?" or suggest some "magical" cures.
11. Finding support groups online, having great understanding friends and professors, and parents who love and support me through my medically interesting and often extremely confusing life.
12. Learning the facts about POTS, like it affects millions of (mostly) women and POTS is so rarely diagnosed because of the lack of awareness.
