12 Things You Forgot That DJ Khaled Told You First

As college seniors graduate and face the risks that come with entering the *real world*, and as Donald Trump stands as America's Republican nominee, it's about that time of the year that we could all use a little inspiration, and so, who better to turn to than hip-hop’s finest—DJ Khaled!

At the end of 2015, this man was inspiring troubled souls everywhere. He went from being 'that guy who screams '"DJ KHALED!" at the beginning of every song,' to the world's fastest growing Snapchat sensation in no time at all! Watching his stories became a part of everyone's daily routine.

Sadly, like everything else, this Snapchat legend was only a sensation for so long. His fame had to ebb. He had to lose some followers. #WeTheBest was no longer trending.

Now, I only have one thing to say to every sincere Khaled fan: You may have stopped watching his Snapchats in 2015, and you might have even gone to the extreme length of deleting him altogether. And yet, this icon’s words still resonate with you. They appear in your dreams. They come to you during finals. They get you through difficult times.

And so, for everyone who misses this truly one-of-a-kind man, here are a few of DJ Khaled’s wisest words, just for that extra motivation you’ve been waiting eagerly to receive.

1. "The key to more success is to have a lot of pillows"

You might be wondering: how is this relevant? Well think about it. If you don't have enough pillows, you don't get enough sleep, and then you don't work enough to become successful. So DJ Khaled is right.

2. "Anotha one!"

Do you give yourself a hard time when you go back for seconds?

"Should I really get a second burrito?", "Should I really drink another Natty?"

Now you know: in this difficult life, seize everything you can! Always get another one!

3. "Another one. No, another two!"

And don't just stop at another one! Have another TWO!

4. "Almond milk + cinnamon crunch = major key to success"

Is anyone else starting to notice a close relationship between the number of DJ Khaled's inspirational quotes and the number of DJ Khaled's quotes about food?

5. "We have to get money. We have no choice. It cost money to eat."

...because now that I think about it, every single one of his stories did begin with him showing us what Chef D made for breakfast...

6. "Key to more success is a clean heart and a clean face"

You need to be clean on the inside AND out. This is a major key.

7. "They will try to close the door on you, just open it"

It's as simple as that, don't you see?

8. "It's all about vibes ya know"

Well if you didn't know then, you know now.

9. "Smh they get mad when you have joy smh"

Given today's culture...just keep in mind that there will always be people who don't want to see you succeed, but DJ Khaled is shaking his head. He will get you through it.

10. "Working all winter, shining all summer"

"Game of Thrones" might have told you winter was coming, but DJ Khaled told you that summer was for shining.

11. They don’t want you to jet ski.

Work hard, play hard.

12. And last but not least, DJ Khaled's most important reminder to always be faithful and to live life to the fullest; "BLESS UP!"

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
