12 Days of Stress
Pexel

Finals week is approaching, so and I had very little time to write an article with 500 words. So this week I present to you, a Christmas poem about finals week. This is for all you busy people, who like me, probably have twelve minutes of free time, because studying, exams, and stress has successfully taken over your life.

I think I need, a little more sleep.
I think I need just one more drink.
I'm talking about, hot chocolate and egg noggin', and seasonal Starbuck drinks, cause...
I just finished all my finals,
And I don't know my left from my right.
My heads screwed on backwards.

'Cause I had:
12 panicked students worried about exams. (Twelve times the panic and twelve times the nervous laugh)
11 Tweedle D's and that one tweedle dum...(Let's not talk about it.)
10 melt downs, everyday. (Maybe a little more, times tickin' away)
And 9 lectures about how it's gonna be okay. (Its not gonna be okay)

But let's forget all the small talk cause,
I'm done with all my exams.
They're in the past.
Don't care if I passed, but that won't last.
Now it's Christmas Eve,
Don't care about the facts.
Baby let this, please let this last.

Oh oh oh, watching the Christmas lights.
Oh oh oh, listening to Christmas Rhythmes.
Ooh ooh oh, Hoping to have a good time.
Oh no no, I'm gonna flip the bird to all that me that 'Tis the season to be jolly.'

Cause I had;

8 study groups, Darlin' wish it was more. ( 8 study groups, wish I learned more.)
7 times late, cause I needed to study more. ( 7 times the naps, if you can even call it that.)

Said six times its fine, before I cried. (Couldn't help the tears, the stress is feeling real.)

Cause after the five exams, I don't have time... (After five exams still got more to do.)

And I want to forget about the small talk,
let's forget all the small talk cause,
I'm done with all my exams.

Cause I had:

4 exams, same week. Two on the same day and I haven't had any sleep. (4 Essay's due and they want me to pass?)

Three coffee's a day, don't know what else to do. (Three espresso shots that were really past due.)

Two prayers left before the test starts. Which means I'm two times as stressed.

And One time blessed, because now we're one day away from Christmas Day.

And I want to forget about the small talk,

let's forget all the small talk cause,

I'm done with all my exams.

Cause I had:

Too many test, too much stress.
12 days of Christmas?
Talk about Twelve days of stress.
At least when it's done,
I can have a lot of fun.
So winter break don't end too soon.
I'll be needing you.

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.

Amidst my hectic college career, I always find time for one thing, even on the busiest weeks: Parks and Recreation. This show has made me laugh and has made me cry, but most of all I have related to this show more than I would like to admit.
