12 Cristina Yang Quotes To Get You Through The Day

We all have our favorite television characters that inspire us or make us laugh. A lot of the times, we remember things those characters have said that resonated with us or made us feel connected to the story. Cristina Yang from "Grey's Anatomy" is one of those characters that just has this affect. Her time on the small screen has resulted in a lot of quotes and advice that could pretty much help anyone cope or get anyone through any kind of day.

1. Be on your own.

Sometimes it's hard to say that you need to look out for yourself without sounding selfish or self-absorbed, but Cristina put it nicely. Sometimes you have to be on your own and do your best for yourself without thinking about how others might feel about it.

2. He is not the sun.

While this was something said to Meredith about her marriage, I feel as if it can definitely apply to more than just her situation. It's important to know that you are the sun of your universe, and you can't let someone else take over and take what you need.

3. It will hurt less.

When you are trying to get over a broken relationship, whether it was romantic, a friendship or a family connection, it can be hard and come with what seems like, and unbearable amount of pain. However, sometimes, you just have to give it time to hurt less.

4. Demand something more.

This one really had an impact on me personally, but it's really hard to think that you have this much control over your lives. People will give up and just accept that bad things happen, but the idea is to stop accepting that as fate and change it.

5. Don't give up on yourself.

This one doesn't need much analyzing, but nobody is going to believe in you if you can't believe in yourself. You have to give yourself the chance to succeed and learn and grow.

6. Being a hero has its price.

I don't think this is one that is thought about that often, but it applies to more than just extreme situations. Sometimes you want to be the hero and save everyone, but that sacrifice doesn't come free.

7. Pretty good is not enough.

Don't settle. Whether it is in your personal or professional life, don't settle for accomplishing the bare minimum. Work hard and always strive for better things.

8. Nothing's normal.

This is really important to remember. I know, personally, I always used to want a personal life that was somewhat "normal," but normal doesn't really exist.

9. Screw beautiful.

This is one of my all-time, favorite Dr. Yang quotes. Especially with women, they are often defined by their appearances, but there is so much more to a person than just their looks.

10. Everything isn't so perfectly right.

The world isn't always black and white, right and wrong. There are a lot of gray areas, and it can be hard to distinguish things that are just completely right or wrong. They often fall somewhere in the middle.

11. You can get through this.

When the world feels like it's crumbling, it can be easy to lose hope that anything is going to get better. However, it's important to remember that there is nothing that you can't overcome.

12. If there's no food, I'm going home.

Of course, I saved the best (and the most important) for last. If there isn't food, odds are you don't want to hang around. No food is never a good sign.

So, don't be afraid to let some of Cristina Yang's wisdom apply to your life. She may be a fictional character, but the things she says are very applicable to real life.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
