When we think of the '90s, fashion icons such as Alicia Silverstone, Drew Barrymore, and Courtney Love may come to our minds. These women were the queens of grunge, a look that has made its comeback in fashion today. Our generation should be proud to be '90s natives; it was the calm before the technology storm, the last time life was truly simple. Plagued by my recent nostalgia, I decided to share the revival of the iconic '90s fashion of my youth. Perhaps by breathing new life into the fashion of our youth, we can pay tribute to the era we hail from and indulge in the carefree lifestyle the trends promote. Consider these classic throwback looks that you may see on the streets this spring.

1. Accent braids: These messy braids are popular everywhere, from music festivals to the runway, and are super easy for an everyday bohemian style.

2. Brown and berry lipstick shades: Balance these bold shades with a simple eye, like Kylie. These lips add a sophisticated touch to your look.

3. Choker necklaces: We can all breathe a sigh of relief, because every '90s girl's favorite accessory is back. Chokers add an edgy touch to any outfit and are fun to layer with other jewelry.

4. Crop tops: The skimpy tops we all hate to love. Britney may have done it first, but these tops are back with a new flavor. Paired with a high waistline, the tops show just the right amount of skin and are versatile enough to dress up or down.

5. Denim jacket: A must-have staple in every '90s kid's closet. This jacket is timeless and can be paired with virtually anything for a casual vibe.

6. Doc Martens: This go-to edgy boot is back with vibrant colors and a variety of textures. The shoe is great for any season and is a versatile option for the girl who has too many clothes and not enough closet space (i.e., every girl).

7. Flannels: Another timeless trend, flannels are cozy and cute, and can be styled for any season. The flannel is the trademark of '90s grunge style. Wear it by itself, over a striped or solid top, or tie it around your waist.

8. Floral skater dress: This dress is an effortlessly feminine reminder of our childhood. Wear this youthful piece with a cute cardigan or denim jacket in the fall or summer.

9. Funky buns: The lazy girl's favorite hair style. Wear two, or just tie half of your hair up into one bun for a laid-back look. This hairdo is everywhere on campus and is the perfect messy updo for those pesky 8 a.m.'s.

10. Jelly sandals: If these don't make you nostalgic for the '90s, nothing will. Jellies are back with quirky new colors and styles. Paired with socks or bare feet, these shoes will never fail to add some pep to your step.

11. Overalls: The '90s kids' unofficial uniform. Overalls are a playful and fun style to explore. Cute new washes and endless layering options make these the perfect sunny-day outfit.

12. Scrunchies: Possibly the most beloved hair accessory of the decade, scrunchies have made a huge comeback. They're so uncool that they're ridiculously cool, and we can't get enough of their retro goodness.

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
