It's the final leg of the semester. Your mind is exhausted, the temperatures have dropped, and you can smell the winter break as if it is standing right in front of you. You probably wish you were home cuddled up in a blanket next to your fireplace while eating candy canes, counting down the days until Santa Claus comes to town. But instead, you're hunched over your laptop in your dorm room studying your brains off for the biggest final exams of your life. But remember, break is coming and so is Christmas! So take a break from your schoolwork and watch one of these movies while you pleasantly procrastinate and eat a whole tub of ice cream.

1. Elf

It's no doubt that "Elf" is one of the greatest Christmas movies there ever was. Buddy the Elf is literally a classic, and Will Ferrell plays the role just perfectly. If you are looking for a stress reliever and need a little bit of comedy in your life to help you get through finals week, Buddy's your guy.

2. Polar Express

"Polar Express" is honestly my favorite Christmas movie to watch around the holidays. The dramatic story of one little boy catching a mysterious train to the North Pole to assure that Santa Claus is real, this movie has always had a special place in my heart. Because the film is based around believing in Santa Clause, if you need some help believing you'll pass finals, this movie is for you.

3. Home Alone

I lied. "Home Alone" might be one of the most classic Christmas movies of all-time. The 1990 movie is timeless and is full of fun and laughs. If you're a '90s kid you've probably seen this movie a hundred and a half times, but you continue to love it more every time you watch it. For a movie to bring you back to your childhood, "Home Alone" it is.

4. It's a Wonderful Life

Although it's from 1946, this movie is still a classic. The messages are timeless, and the romance of the story can open up any viewer's heart. Once you've realized that you are single, you are lonely, and you probably will fail all your finals, turn on this movie and reassure yourself that love is still a thing.

5. Dr Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas

The Grinch is everyone's favorite enemy during Christmastime. Watching his two hour plan to destroy Christmas is somewhat mesmerizing for us, and yet we seem to enjoy the same thing every year. Nonetheless, because you probably feel the same way towards your finals as the Grinch does towards Christmas, you'll realize the green monster feels your pain.

6. Miracle on 34th Street

Another classic, this movie seems like it's on ABC Family every other hour. That's not to take away from it's greatness though, "Miracle on 34th Street" was good enough to get a remodeled version in 1994 of the original 1947 movie. Flip on this movie to get you in the Christmas spirit.

7. The Santa Clause

There's nothing funnier than Tim Allen becoming the newest installment of Santa Clause. Although this is the first movie in the trilogy, it may be the best. The film is a perfect combination of comedy and drama so it's a perfect stress reliever to break up those study sessions.

8. Frosty the Snowman

Frosty the snowman is a very jolly soul...His story is always fun to watch whether you're a kid or adult. Seeing him melt breaks the hearts of millions, but as a broke college student you kind of envy Frosty, hoping you yourself would melt so you wouldn't have to go through the heartbreak of finals week.

9. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Whether you watch the TV special or the entire movie itself, you can never go wrong with the story of Rudolph. Meeting Hermie the wanna-be dentist, the friendship they form reminds you there is hope! Singing the songs is always fun too, so if you want to start screaming Christmas songs in your dorm and you really want to get your roommate mad, you know what to do.

10. A Christmas Story

Ralphie is one of the most recognizable child faces of all Christmas movies. Avoiding bullies and dreaming big, there's a little Ralphie in everyone. This is one of the most timeless Christmas movies. Watch this movie for a few stress relieving chuckles.

11. Charlie Brown Christmas

Charlie Brown's holiday movies are always classic. From Halloween to Thanksgiving to Christmas, they never fail to put smiles on people's faces. Watch Charlie Brown and the gang to get extra jolly the Christmas time and to remember that the hell of finals is almost over!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
