Mom, what do you mean I can't get tacos at 2 in the morning?

12 Things That Change When You Come Home From School

College is absolutely amazing. You have the freedom to do just about whatever you want, whenever you want! You get to manage your time and make your own decisions. One slight problem though, coming home for the summer. Here is a short list of things that definitely change when you come back from school.

1. You cant go out super late anymore. 3 a.m. adventures don't go over too well with your parents.

2. Your nights now end at 11 p.m. instead of starting at 11 p.m.

3. You have to constantly ask permission to do things.

4. Your schedule is now organized by your parents and by work.

5. You have to actually make plans, instead of just dropping by your friends room.

6. Your friends aren't constantly around to talk too.

7. You actually have to text your friends from school instead of just waiting to see them later in the day.

8. You don't have to do your own dishes and laundry anymore.

This can be a huge perk especially for those like me, who think doing laundry is actually a form of torture.

9. You're probably still on a college sleep schedule.

If you are anything like me, you're probably having trouble getting to bed before two.

10. Small things you use to do at school, like trips to go get slurpees, aren't as fun anymore.

You'll probably find yourself saying "well now what are we gonna do?"

11. You have your biggest support team around you now 24/7.

Coming home means you have people who want the best for you by your side whenever they need you.

12. You're not so home sick anymore.

Whether you want to admit it or not coming home for the summer has it's downsides, but overall it's a giant perk. I can't wait to spend the summer with the people I love the most.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
