12 Teen Heartthrobs From The 2000s We Were All Ready To Marry In Middle School

If you open your class notebooks, their names were probably scribbled in the back surrounded by countless hearts.

As a 12-year-old girl, I had my fair share of celebrity husbands -- you know what I'm talking about. These were the guys whose last names you scribbled throughout the pages of your Lisa Frank notebooks in class while wearing silly bandz on your wrist and a butterfly clip in your hair. Though the love wasn't returned, it was definitely true. Here are 12 celebrity crushes we all would've walked down the aisle for in middle school.

1. The Jonas Brothers

The best day of my life was when I won four front row tickets to the Jonas Brothers concert. I thought for sure if we locked eyes in the front row, one of them was bound to fall for me instantly. That was the first and only time the Jonas Brothers have ever disappointed me.

2. Justin Bieber

When "Baby" was released in 2010, you could find me jamming that song nonstop on my iPod nano all the way to class. And the "Never Say Never" movie was essentially on repeat every weekend for a year. No shame.

3. Taylor Lautner

If you had a "Twilight" obsession, you most definitely either had a Jacob or Edward obsession as well. For me? I was 100% #TeamJacob.

4. Zac Efron

There is not one girl who didn't fall in love with Zac Efron during "High School Musical." He was athletic, musically-inclined, and an all-around sweet guy. He sure made my expectations for boys in high school way too high.

5. Cody Simpson

Does anybody actually remember Cody Simpson? The one-hit-wonder with the "IYIYI" song. For those few brief months where Cody Simpson was popular, I was sure I'd marry him one day.

6. Raviv Ullman

That name probably doesn't ring a bell, but if I mention "Phil of the Future," every '90s kid would probably go wild. His easy-going and kind personality and intelligence in the TV show definitely make up for his sometimes awkward tendencies from being from the future.

7. Drake Bell

"Drake and Josh" has popped up in many memes and comics since its debut in early 2004. Drake Bell plays the popular and inspiring musician Drake Parker in this Nickelodeon comedy series. Although I now recognize the qualities in the show that make him insufficient to be a significant other, younger me melted at the sound of his voice.

8. Ashton Kutcher

Although I only was given a brief insight into "That 70s Show" growing up, it didn't take long for me to recognize he was insanely handsome.

9. Chad Michael Murray

Austin Aimes -- every girl's love at one point or another in her life. "A Cinderella Story" is always a classic movie to watch with your besties with the cliche message that love conquers all, and Disney displays yet another unrealistic expectation of high school boys in this movie.

10. Drew Seeley

Wow, shocker - Disney Channel sets more unrealistic expectations for its younger female audience. Joey was just another classic popular guy that fell for the unpopular girl in high school. However, that's always a classic plotline that usually has a happy ending -- at least on Disney Channel.

11. Jesse McCartney

Jesse McCartney was totally underrated as an artist. He had an absolute angelic voice, and when one of my good friends from middle school won tickets to see him, I was insanely jealous of her. But get ready everyone -- he just recently released a new single! Check it out here!

12. Lucas Hill

For all of my country-grown girls out there, when Travis was introduced as Miley's love interest during "Hannah Montana: The Movie," we couldn't help but be ecstatic. Finally, there was a guy introduced with genuine values, manners, and a good sense of humor and hard work. What middle school girl wouldn't have wanted to marry him?

Now I understand some of these men I mentioned were simply characters in movies or TV shows. And I recognize that I really did fall in love with the characters more than the actors themselves. But the best part about that? I can rewatch the movie or TV show and feel that same glimmer of hope I did in middle school to find someone exactly like them.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
