12 Cartoon Network-Inspired Halloween Costumes

As Halloween quickly approaches, everyone is scattering around trying to put their last-second costumes together. At least I know that I am! Halloween is a great time, where you can dress up as anyone or be anything you want. If you’re running out of ideas for a great costume, here are some ideas that kick it back to the good ol' Cartoon Network days. Nothing gets better than Cartoon Network and Halloween!

1. The Imaginary Friends

"Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends" was a show that I never fully dedicated myself to as a cartoon-watching child. However, it can inspire numerous fun costumes. Every character is unique and would require you to find some random pieces to put together. Whether it’s Bloo, Wilt, or Frankie, these would make a fun and memorable costume.

2. Any character from the "Powerpuff Girls"

In honor of the new rendition airing next year, this would be a completely acceptable option. I dressed up as Blossom one year, and it’s probably my favorite costume I’ve ever had. Whether you’re the three girls with friends, Professor Utonium, or the mayor, "Powerpuff Girls" is an amazing show that deserves to be brought back in the form of a costume.

3. Fred and Daphne

Dressing up as Fred and Daphne would be an adorable couple costume. Everyone will recognize the ascot and headband that are both necessary to pull off this amazing look.

4. Or do the whole Mystery Machine crew

Velma, Shaggy, or Scooby are also reasonable costumes. The good part about "Scooby Doo" characters is that everyone knows who you are. You won’t get any weird questions about your costume, and you will definitely get the respect of everyone around you. Who doesn’t love Scooby?

5. "Tom & Jerry"

This is another adorable couple costume or something to do with a friend. All you need to do is dress up like a gray cat and a brown mouse. People dress up like cats and mice anyways, so this would be a great way to mix it up and bring back one of our childhood favorites.

6. Grandfather from "Courage the Cowardly Dog"

All you need for this honestly is the mask that scares the life out of Courage every time his grandfather pulls it out. That mask honestly gave me nightmares, and we all know what it did to Courage. If I ever see someone roaming the streets in this, I would definitely run. I would run fast and run far.

7. Johnny Bravo

A black shirt along with a skinny pair of jeans and black shoes completes this simple costume. Gelled up blonde (more like yellow) hair and a comb in your hand makes you about as Johnny Bravo as possible. Don't forget to act like a giant tool all night!

8. Dexter

You might as well pull out your old lab coat from chemistry and purple gloves to make you into the young genius that everyone used to love. If you have hair like Dexter, you'll definitely be the hit of Halloween.

9. Ed, Edd, or Eddy

If you have two good friends, this one is perfect! Just dress like them with clothes you can find anywhere. All of the characters from this show are easy to be and would make memorable costumes, especially if you go as a group. Hopefully, you’ll end up going on crazy adventures and going through a load of shenanigans like they always did on the show. Bonus points if you have an incredibly big jawbreaker with you to complete the look.

10. "Looney Tunes"

Or what’s even better is "Baby Looney Tunes." Tweety, Bugs, Daffy, and Taz are just a few of the options that someone can possibly have with this one. This is another great group costume. The only thing is that you might need to paint your face, or body, to get the full effect.

11. Grim

Who doesn’t love the Grim Reaper? The "Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy" made us all know and love Grim. This one is even a typical Halloween costume, and can potentially be pretty scary if you wanted it to be.

12. The Flintstones or the Rubbles

Now this is a throwback, all the way to prehistoric times. I’ve seen people dressed up as Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm, and it’s absolutely adorable. This may require purchasing an actual costume as opposed to just putting pieces together, but it would definitely be worth it.

No matter what you dress up as, Halloween is a time that everyone should be excited for. The options for Halloween costumes are endless, and whether you go as a Cartoon Network character or not, you’ll definitely have a good time. Happy Halloween! Don’t forget to watch "Hocus Pocus" and "Halloweentown" a few times just to bring back some of the old memories! Hopefully us
college students can score some free candy too!

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
