12 Candles You Need In Your Life

If there's one thing a person can't have too much of, it's candles. Though a bit expensive (usually $15-25 a pop) candles wake up your senses and make the world smell better. Sometimes, a fresh air scented candle smells better than actual fresh air. Consider investing in these 12 candles if you're looking to switch up the scents in your life.

1. Café Al Fresco, Yankee Candle

A coffee scented candle for when you want the smell of your morning cup of Joe to linger for a bit longer. (I wish I knew about this before I kept my old Starbucks cups on my desk in the hopes they would act as air fresheners. True story).

2. Eucalyptus Mint, Bath & Body Works

Did someone say stress relief? Light up this candle when you're overwhelmed or in need of a good relaxing sesh. Breathe in, breathe out.

3. Pink Sands, Yankee Candle

Because pink sand smells better than regular sand, amiright?

4. Holiday Cookies, Sonoma

There's nothing better than the smell of freshly baked cookies, especially the holiday ones. Who wouldn't want to smell holiday cookies all yearlong? What a treat!

5. Evergreen, Bath & Body Works

Sometimes you need to smell trees, especially if you're living that city life. This candle will make you feel as though you're in a forest full of gorgeous, green, glistening trees.

6. Cucumber Melon, Diamond Candles

A classic scent, cucumber melon will leave you feeling refreshed and ready to take on anything that comes your way.

7. Midsummer's Night, Yankee Candle

This candle smells like a man (in a good way). So if you can't curl up in blankets and watch Netflix with your beau, light this candle. It'll almost be like he is there. Almost.

8. Teakwood, WoodWick

Not only does this candle release a wood scent, but its wooden wicks make a crackling sound when lit to produce a soothing ambiance. Perfect for those who don't have a fireplace.

9. Macintosh, Yankee Candle

No, this candle doesn't smell like a computer. Pretend you're wandering through an apple orchard when you smell this fresh Macintosh aroma.

10. Bergamot Waters, Bath & Body Works

If you're a die-hard Bath & Body Works lover, then you know the dancing waters scent they offer. This candle is similar, so if you enjoy that, then it's a safe bet you'll enjoy this one, too.

11. Currant , WoodWick

For when you're in the mood for a sweet, juicy aroma that will make your home feel light and airy.

12. Vanilla Bean, WoodWick

Sit back and relax with the smell of pure vanilla bean and the sound of an open fire.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
