12 Bible Verses To Live By
Hanging Out and Hanging In

Life is known for being a rollercoaster of emotions and events. Sometimes, we are on the top of the world and feel like nothing could bring us down. Other times, we wonder how can it possibly get any worse. Even though life is full of surprises, here are some bible verses to get us through the rough times.

This is my own personal verse: the one I go to when life gives me a lot of difficult problems. We all go through difficult times, but we always need to remind ourselves that we are not alone in our situations.

1. Joshua 1:9

In life, we can become afraid of the unknown. But in these times, we need to remember that our God is bigger than our problems and fears.

2. Deuteronomy 7:21

Worrying does nothing but steal our happiness and joy. By worrying, we cannot change the outcome. Therefore, instead of worrying, we should pray; praying reminds us that God is in control at all times. No matter what happens, God's got it under control.

3. Philippians 4:6

For the same reason, we cannot worry about what tomorrow brings but rather focus on the issues at hand. Take each day at a time and trust God with His plan.

4. Matthew 6:34

God makes ALL things work for the good of people who have been called. During the good times, it is easy to see how God makes things work for our benefit. The difficult times is when it can be impossible to understand how it is going to help us later on. However, it will. Maybe not at that moment, but in the future, God may have something better planned.

5. Romans 8:28

God is with us always and no matter what we do, God will always love us. No matter where we go, God is with us. We could be the worst sinner in the world, but He still loves us.

6. Romans 8:38-39

The world tells us to be something other than what we are called to be. We live in a world plagued with sin and temptations. It can be so easy to fall into these temptations. But God warns us against this and to follow His plan. This is never easy, but it will lead to great reward in heaven.

7. Romans 12:2

In difficult times, we should turn to God. Sometimes we do not understand why things happen, but we should rely on God. Be calmed by His presence and trust Him.

8. Psalm 62:1-2

God's strength is infinite. He can get us through any difficult situation and by relying on his strength, we too can be strong.

9. Isaiah 40:31

Our current circumstances may not be good, but there is going to be something better. When we have hit rock bottom, the only way is up.

10. Romans 8:18

Nothing is impossible with God. Our God is an all-powerful God who can do anything.

11. Philippians 4:13

God's plan may not make sense in the moment, but He is not here to punish us. He loves us and knows what is best for us.

12. Jeremiah 29:11

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
