This show definitely lived up to its expectations

I know I'm not alone here when I say I was crazy excited to hear that "Full House" was doing a reboot, "Fuller House". I grew up watching "Full House" and still love watching the re-runs. The day "Fuller House" came to Netflix, I started watching it and finished all 13 episodes in three days, and I'm not even embarrassed about it. This show has the same feel good, happy-go-lucky vibe that the original did, and that's why we already can't get enough. Who else can't wait for season two? Here are the 12 best moments in season one.

1. The intro.

I think that it's absolutely amazing they have the original song, sped up by Carly Rae Jepsen, and then they have the side by side pictures. It starts with a baby picture, then it goes to the teen years, and then it's them now. It gives you that feeling of nostalgia knowing that you grew up watching them.

2. When they sang the "Flintstones".

In my opinion, this was one of the best scenes because it showed how the family has evolved. The flashback to the original and the side by side, showing how it was originally sung to Michelle, now it's being sung to DJ's son, was perfect. I especially liked how they did the song again after Danny, Uncle Jesse, and Joey left with DJ's sons and Kimmy's daughter to show how they are the adults now.

3. The puppy scene.

Unfortunately, there is no picture on the Internet of the cuteness overload that was when DJ's son got into the pen with all the puppies when trying to pick one to keep. DJ is now a vet and helped deliver Comet Jr. Jr.'s puppies, and allowed her son, Max, to choose one to keep. He even makes it like a dating pool saying the things he doesn't like to try to get some of the puppies to "drop out" of the race for who will be picked.

4. The old slang.

"Have mercy", "how rude", "you got it dude", "cut it out"; all of these are signature staples of "Full House", and I think it was a great decision to make them a part of "Fuller House". It's used in the Uncle Jesse and Stephanie pep talk, of course the times with Joey, and in the scene pictured above when they call Michelle in the city. These quotes aren't used too frequently, but they are put in at the exact right time for when you need some old laughs.

5. Steve vs Doctor Matt.

This was the hardest decision to make during season one: are you team Steve or team cute doctor? The flashbacks to Steve and DJ at prom and when they were younger were adorable, and the fact that they were each other's first loves definitely means something. Also, the fact that they were both married and are both single again could be fate. But on the other hand, have you seen Dr. Matt? He's adorable, good with her kids and is her business partner. They have a lot of the same interests, which makes this decision so hard. No wonder she couldn't pick!

6. Uncle Jesse singing "Forever".

Uncle Jesse singing "Forever" in the original "Full House" to Michelle made us cry, but when he sang it again to Aunt Becky this time in "Fuller House", it was even better. It is such a cute, heartfelt song that it makes you want to jump through the screen and have him sing it to you personally.

7. The pep talks.

I really appreciate how they are having DJ's kids re-enact some of the struggles that DJ, Stephanie and Michelle went through growing up. I like how Stephanie and Max have their heart-to-hearts because they are both the middle child and are always in competition with their older sibling. I like how they are making Jackson and Max share a room because that's what DJ and Stephanie did; they talk about how they were both reluctant at first, but are now happy that they did. They try to pass their morals on to the kids, which I think is really great. The original show was known for its heart-to-hearts, so it's good that they're implementing old values into this show.

8. The wrestling match.

This episode showed that DJ is a true over-protective mother (just like Danny was) and will do anything for her kids. DJ jumps into the wrestling ring when her son Jackson (who snuck out of the house to get there) gets into the ring with a professional in order to save him. She ends up kicking butt and showing her son that she may be over-protective, but it's because she has his best interests in mind. The main reason he was at the match to begin with was because he made friends with his own "Kimmy Gibbler" and he got him into trouble.

9. Kimmy Gibbler and her Latin lover.

We all knew Kimmy Gibbler and the annoying girl next door. She was quirky, loud and obnoxious, but these are the reasons we loved watching her. We all thought she would end up with a rich nerd like Nelson, but she ended up with a Latin race car driver, who is an ex-hairdresser. He constantly cheats on her and at the end she finally stands up for herself. She was thinking about taking him back, but then she realized her self-worth. I thought that this was a very pivotal moment for the annoying girl next door; she realized she deserved more. They could still be friends, but, divorced friends. It was the best decision for their daughter because she wanted to show her what to accept as a woman.

10. Coachella.

Aunt Stephanie is great to DJ's kids, but when she got the opportunity to DJ at Coachella, a huge music festival, she took the opportunity, forgetting she was supposed to attend Max's recital. So to make it up to him, and for taking his lucky scarf with her by accident, she puts him on FaceTime and lets him play the trumpet for all the people at Coachella. It was such a cool moment for us to watch. This 7-year-old is living out the dream of so many people.

11. The Michelle references.

The fact that Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen didn't want to do the show was a big deal being that Michelle was a vital part of "Full House". So in a fashion only "Fuller House" could do, they made Michelle references that threw playful digs at the Olsen twins for their decision. In the pilot episode, they broke the fourth wall, looked straight at the camera and said they really should be here. Then, later on in the season, Kimmy made an Ashley and Mary-Kate reference saying that the dress she bought for Ramona was Ashley and Mary-Kate, later saying, "This was so expensive, no wonder they don't need to act anymore."

12. Harry Takayama.

I was stunned when they brought out Stephanie's "husband", Harry Takayama. The flashback to their backyard wedding in second grade while some kid said "holy mattress money" instead of "holy matrimony" was great because I remember that episode perfectly. The fact that he still kissed her hand and the friendship was still strong made the viewers so happy. Now, if they just bring out her angsty friend Gia, we'll have seen everything.

These are just a few of the reasons "Fuller House" should definitely be here to stay. It has great morals and values, reflects some of the old story lines and jokes, and has a more modern take on the old-fashioned, mushy family.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
