Many people flock to the Old Port in the summer because of its vast nightlife scene. The bars range from dive bar to nightclub and welcome all ages. Here is a guide to the tourists who decide to visit Portland, or for the people who want to try something new.

1. Pearl Lounge

A perfect destination for those who are new to the bar scene. Pearl Lounge is a club with a bar and dance floor. Located on 442 Fore St.

2. Lincoln's

With a location only known to locals, Lincoln's is a modern day speakeasy that has $5 drinks. Good luck finding the bar! It is very much a hidden gem with a low-key vibe.

3. Maps

A cozy, small bar, inspired by world travelers Vikki Walker and Kyle Tzrinski. The intimate bar is located on Market Street and is decorated with maps, globes, old records and antique furniture. Not to mention, they have awesome grilled cheese and beer.


4. Amigos

Looking to have a chill, fun night with your friends? Amigos is the perfect place to grab a pitcher of beer and hang out. Don't forget to check out the outdoor patio! Located on Dana Street.

5. Bar of Chocolate

Looking to satisfy your chocolate and martini cravings in one sitting? Go to the Bar of Chocolate for an amazing chocolate martini and take a look at their delicious dessert menu. Located on Wharf Street.

6. Old Port Tavern

Located in a historic old church, the Old Port Tavern is right in the midst of the Old Port bar scene. Enjoy karaoke, good music and dancing! Located on Moulton Street.

7. Styxx Nightclub

Styxx is one of the gay bars in Portland, Maine. Get ready to dance in this high-energy club. Maybe, you'll even get to see Cherry Lemonade.

8. 51 Wharf Nightclub

Located on Wharf Street in the heart of the Old Port, 51 Wharf is perfect for dancing and club music.

9. Mark's Place

Packed at Pearl? Go next door to Mark's Place, but make sure to get their early if you want to beat the crowds. Located on Fore Street.

10. Bonfire Country Bar

Put on your cowboy boots and head to Bonfire Country Bar for country music and enjoy the extensive whiskey selection. Located on Wharf Street.

11. Ri Ra Irish Pub
