Everyone has doubted his/her ability at least once. It could be in a situation that tests your physical strength, emotional strength, ambition or intelligence. But should we doubt ourselves? I’m personally a believer that we are never put in situations that we aren’t ready for or have the strength to conquer. I believe in God’s plan and know that I am where I am supposed to be at this point in my life. Plus I think we discredit ourselves all too often. We have a lot inside of us and sometimes it just takes a challenging situation for that internal strength to be revealed.
Most of us have an irrational fear of failure. We want to succeed on the first try with everything we do but that's an unachievable goal. Sometimes we make mistakes, but we learn from them and move forward. So when you doubt yourself just try to go into the situation with a positive perspective and remember even if the situation doesn’t turn out exactly the way you want it to, it’s not the end of the world.
Here are 12 positive affirmations to remember in times of self-doubt:
1. I believe in myself and my ability.
2. I am independent and can do this.
3. I am brilliant, bright, and beautiful.
4. I am enough.
5. God (the universe or whoever/whatever you believe in) would never give me more than I can handle.
6. I forgive myself for my mistakes and know that I am resilient enough to try again.
7. I am continuously working toward being a more confident person.
8. I see each day as an opportunity to overcome my fear of failure and I believe in my potential to be successful.
9. “Ask yourself, ‘What will happen if I doubt this doubt.’”- Gareth Stubbs
