12 Things To Add To Your Summer Bucket List

Summer is the time to sit back, relax and enjoy a much needed break from school. Lounging around every day can get boring after a while, so why not add some fun to your summer and make a bucket list? There's so much you can do within your town or city, so gather some friends and try some of these activities!

1. Have a picnic

What better way to enjoy the great outdoors than by packing a lunch and going to the lake with your best friends?

2. Try every flavor of ice cream at your local ice cream shop

Make it a competition between friends to see who can finish all the flavors first! It'll be a fun, competitive challenge for everyone.

3. Read more books

There are so many great books out there just waiting to be read. Head to your local bookstore and grab a few and get to reading!

4. Travel to a place you've never been before

Take a family trip or round up all your friends and head somewhere completely new! Be adventurous!

5. Camp out under the stars

It's a cheap way to enjoy nature and spend time with friends. So grab your tent and some snacks and find a place to camp out!

6. Wake up early and watch the sunrise

Yes, I know waking up early during summer vacation doesn't sound appealing, but it'll be worth it when you see the beauty of the sun rising over a hill.

7. Learn a new recipe

Find a recipe on Pinterest and go to the grocery store to find all the ingredients. It'll be fun to learn a new recipe and share it with your family and friends.

8. Set fitness goals and accomplish them

There's not many things better than a good, sweaty workout. Set goals and crush them and you'll feel stronger and more confident!

9. Learn a useful life skill or hack

Learn how to change a tire, your oil, or even learn a new language!

10. Act like a tourist in your city

Spend a day out in the city and explore all it has to offer. Try new restaurants and activities you wouldn't usually do.

11. Go to the drive-in

Gather all your closet friends and go see the newest movie at the drive-in!

12. Give up social media for a few days

Get your nose out of your phone and enjoy all that life has to offer! You'll be amazed that there is actually a world outside of social media! It doesn't have to be for the whole summer, but at least for a few days!

Enjoy your summer and spend it with friends and family. Try new foods and activities. Be adventurous and live life to the fullest!

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
