12 Activities To Do Over Spring Break

Well it's now spring break and the chances you are currently sitting on some tropical island is slim because you are a broke college student after all. Just because you aren't sitting on a beach, tanning, doesn't mean you can't have some fun this break. Gather up some friends and par take in some of the activities listed below to have a fun filled break rather than sitting on that couch.

1. Get Your Game Face On

Have some friendly competition with your friends by going bowling or rollerskating. Don't want to spend the money? Play board games or if the weather is nice get outside and play wiffle ball or kickball.

2. Connect With Nature

If the weather is cooperating and in fact spring-like weather, go for a hike, bicycle ride or just walk around your neighborhood!

3. Relax

Yeah it might seem relaxing to sit on your couch just watching T.V, but why not treat your body by taking a nice warm bath or just reading a book for pleasure for once?

4. Whip Up Some Delicious Food

You finally get to escape the bland campus food so why not take the time to finally make some homemade food? Even if you just make your own dessert I'm sure it'll be better than campus's dessert options.

5. Visit Family

Yeah being around family can be annoying sometimes, but you probably haven't seen them for awhile now. Take the time to go visit them because soon enough you will be graduating from college and will be wrapped up in your new adult life.

6. Explore Your Hometown

Do you truly know everything there is to know about your hometown? Why not visit local stores, museums or attractions your hometown has to offer. Some places even offer discounted tickets or prices to locals.

7. Take A Day Trip

OK, you couldn't quite afford that all-inclusive trip to Mexico, but you can always take a day trip somewhere. I know I like taking day trips to Philadelphia, Washington D.C, and Baltimore.

8. Get Out Those Old Arts & Crafts

Why not get creative and crafty? It's a sure way to keep you busy and can help you to relax after all those midterms you just had.

9. Try Something New

Maybe there was always something you wanted to try, but never quite got the chance to. Well breaks are the perfect opportunity to do just that! This past winter break I finally got the chance to try skiing, and guess what? I loved it!

10. Go Workout

Maybe this semester you haven't been able to workout as much as you would have liked to. Well now that it's break you can workout at release all of those endorphins as well as stress from school.

11. Get Dressed Up For An Evening

You've probably been bumming it most of this semester so why not get dressed up, and go out to dinner with your friends? And to make the most of it, leave your phones in the car or at home so you can have some good, deep conversations.

12. Have A Bonfire

Bonfires are a perfect way to kick off the spring/summer seasons so invite your friends, ignite the fire, and roast some marshmallows!

Creating your schedule for the upcoming semester can be an exciting process. You have the control to decide if you want to have class two-days a week or five-days a week. You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
