As 2016 comes to a close, and we reflect back on the last 365 days, it's easy to say that this year has been one of the roughest and most tumultuous years yet. From famous breakups to election drama, 2016 is definitely a year that all of us will remember, and maybe not for the best reasons. Here are just 12 of the things that made 2016 the worst.

1. We had to say goodbye to Vine.

"Look at all those chickens"... and look at all of my tears.

2. Also Alan Rickman.

You'll be in our hearts, Professor. Always.

3. And David Bowie.

4. ...and Prince.

5. There were a lot of goodbyes happening and every single one of them was terrible, OK?

WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE?

6. We had to learn to live in a world without Brangelina for the first time in over 10 years.

Thanks for the warning, Ang.

7. One Direction went on hiatus.

And half of them became fathers. OK 2016, OK.

8. The Rihanna and Drake romance was incredibly short-lived.

Work work work work work work.... cry cry cry cry cry cry.

9. Taylor Swift didn't put out her regularly scheduled album.

HELLO, WE'RE WAITING. And a collab with ZAYN of all people is not what we meant when we asked for new music.

10. Ed Sheeran went into hiding.

Much like the Avatar, "when the world needed him most, he vanished."

11. Instagram basically turned into Facebook.

Reordered timelines, replying to comments.... really Instagram? Really?

12. Donald Trump.

This one is self explanatory.

It's been a rough 12 months, but luckily 2016 is now coming to a quick close. Through all of the celebrity disasters, musical losses, disappointments from our favorite social media platforms, and a lot of other just terribly awful things that have happened this year, we have all managed to stick it out and survive... for the most part. Now we can only hope that 2017 brings hope and solace for our sad, abysmal lives, and even though it's not looking promising.... we can dream right? So long 2016, thank you for consistently making sure to keep kicking us while we were down.

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

CSU

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
