As soon as you wake up, you usually have a million things running through your head- right? Errands you need to run that day, what you want to have for breakfast, or how many more alarms you can snooze before actually having to get out of bed are just a few things that come to mind.

While many of us try to stay bundled under the covers for as long as possible each day, it may not be the most useful when it comes to our productivity. Have you ever noticed that whenever you scramble to get ready in 15 minutes and rush out the door, it often feels as if the rest of the day is already off to a bad start as well? Well, instead of aimlessly wasting your precious AM hours, I challenge you to try to get up just an hour or so earlier in order to implement some of these activities. I have no doubt that you will be pleasantly surprised at the increase in your energy levels and overall well-being throughout the day. I hope you enjoy!

1. Set your intentions.

2. Eat a good breakfast.

3. Exercise or go on a morning walk.

4. Meditate.

5. Don’t check your phone right away.

6. Spend time with your loved ones.

7. Coffee. Always coffee.

8. Reply to urgent emails first.

9. Plan out your to-do list for the day (planner!)

10. Listen to music.

11. Read/listen to the news.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
