It's that time of season again.

It's the changing of Summer into Fall and Fall into Winter. It's getting colder out and allergy season is slowly withering away. People are getting sick left to right, and you're wondering when you'll be next. I became ill about a week and a half ago with an itchy throat and coughs. Then, last weekend, I got the stomach flu and the flu. As much as I love sleeping and my bed, it wasn't fun. I'm still feeling under the weather and will probably feel this way for a few more days, but just because I and many others are getting sick, doesn't mean you have to!

Here are 11 ways to help yourself not to get sick.

1. Drink plenty of fluids

2. Get more sleep

3. Exercise, whether it's walking, running, cardio, yoga, dance, you name it

4. Vitamin C

5. Take time for yourself

6. Clean your room, apartment, house, or any space of living

7. Get your flu shot!

8. Make sure you eat right according to yourself

9. Wash your hands in warm water with soap

10. Get some fresh air

11. Smile, laugh and be happy

And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
