Writer's block is the worst, and today I have it. I have lost all of my creative flow and don't know what I should write an article about. We all have those moments when we need to write about something whether it be for a school assignment, a blog post, a journal entry or an article; but your brain just says "lol, nope not happening," and any chance of an idea is lost. So in light of this frustrating phenomenon, I am going to share 11 ways you can overcome your writer's block.

1.) Leave your usual writing environment. If you always writing in the same space it can benefit to try and get out of that space and brainstorm somewhere else. Brainstorming somewhere that your not used to or is a completely new environment can help spark ideas.

2.) Go for a walk. Walking is a great way to get you outside and moving. Even just walking around your street or backyard can help you overcome writer's block. it gives you time to think and an opportunity to see something that inspires you.

3.) Read a book. Reading a good book and get your creative flow going by immersing yourself in the creative works of others. It's also a great way to relax.

4.) Play with some animals. Playing with animals, whether it be your pets, someone else pets, or animals at a shelter, releases feel-good hormones and can help relieve stress and worry that may be contributing to your writer's block. They're also just really cute!

5.) Turn on some music and dance. Music is another way to immerse yourself in another person's creative flow and may help inspire your own. Dancing is a great way to let loose and relieve some stress.

6.) Take a shower. The shower is an amazing place to think. There is just something about it that creates a wonderful thought provoking environment. I think many of us have had great ideas in the shower. Just make sure you remember them when you get out!

7.) Draw a picture. Drawing a picture of whatever comes to mind can help get your creativity flowing and get you on the path to getting writing ideas.

8.) Read the news. If you're a journalistic writer then reading the news can keep you up to date with what's happening in the world and give you ideas for topics to write about.

9.) Talk to family or a friend on the phone. Sometimes talking to a friend or family member will get you thinking about things you may not have come up with on your own. this is a great way to come up with new ideas.

10.) Make a list of random words. By making a list of random words, especially ones that interest you, you can spark new ideas. This could be the very beginning of your outlining process.

11.) Ask for help. When in doubt ask for help! It's never a bad idea to ask for help when you can't come up with a topic on your own. Asking a friend, teacher, editor or family member is always a great option for when you're struggling with writer's block. Most of the time other people will have plenty of ideas to share.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
