They said that high school would fly by. I don't know about you, but it felt like high school lasted a decade. College, however, has been a different story. These past three years have been a rocket ride. A here we are with just one year left.
I can't help but notice that some things in my life have changed. I can only imagine that these things have changed for other senior sorority C of C women as well. Here are some of ways you can distinguish us from the rest of the pack, as we begin our final chapter at the College.
1) The weekend has barely any meaning any more. Go out on a Tuesday? Wednesday? Sunday? Why not! Soon you'll be in the real world and you might not even have the energy to go out on Friday (sob).
2) Going off this, you start to realize just how awesome Happy Hour deals really are. And how empty your wallet is.
3) You have frequent and painful existential crises when it dawns on you how impermanent this time in your life is, and how you could literally go anywhere and do anything after graduation. This both excites and terrifies you at the same time.
4) You try to befriend your new pledge class, but you end up rambling and feeling self-conscious and too old to relate to. You keep saying starting sentences with "when I was your age...." until your friends drag you away in embarrassment.
5) You realize you're going to be a great grand-big, and you almost start crying on the spot.
6) Your mom tells you that you need to stop buying 'bar/club clothes' and start shopping for 'office clothes'. You cry even more.
7) You ask your exec board if it would be possible for you to continue attending chapter and sisterhood events next fall. They tell you to move on with your life.
8) You know you shouldn't buy the new date party shirt, because when will you ever wear it after graduation...but you still get it, of course.
9) Suddenly the songs you listened to freshmen year have a whole new meaning and air of nostalgia. (Payphone, Call Me Maybe, What Makes You Beautiful...ring any bells?)
10) You don't even care anymore about finding the perfect date for events. Well...maybe still a little bit.
11) You realize that you still have two semesters left here in this crazy adventure, so you need to live it up and make the most of it. But you also realize that an entirely new and amazing adventure is about to start.
