11 Ways To Keep Warm In The Winter

Baby, it's cold outside...

10

While it's been in the high 60s and low 70s here in my home state of Georgia in the past week, all of a sudden, we've been hitting the mid 40s every day. There are some people who are better at handling the cold weather (like myself), and then there are the people who are more inclined to bundle up with many jackets (like some of my friends). Over the years, I've heard of some pretty clever and sometimes ridiculous ways to keep warm during the colder winter months....

1. Add more hot sauce to everything you eat.

2. Carry around a hair dryer for random extra warmth (when you're near an outlet, obviously).

3. Layers on layers on layers on layers.

4. Make more friends and/or find a significant other to hug for extra body heat.

5. Literally just never leave your house.

6. Set various things on fire for extra warmth.

7. Look at pictures of the beach and other warm locations to imagine yourself there.

8. Invest in a hot tub.

9. Always have candles lit to provide an extra feeling of warmth.

10. Try to deal with it. Maintain a positive attitude and become the cold's worst enemy.

11. If all of the above fail, just move to Florida. I hear it's always warm there.

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
