Being a college student means being broke, being stressed, and getting used to eating almost anything because school food is not always the best. The same happens to Max and Caroline in "2 Broke Girls". Max is a broke waitress living on her own in Brooklyn, NY until she meets Caroline who's a newly broke heiress looking for a job. Max has lived this way her whole life and when it comes to money and her job, she does enough to get by. Here are a few GIFs that show how Max is just like the rest of us college students just trying to get by.

1. She tells it like it is.

She is honest and open. Plus isn't this just basically what our parents taught us since birth? Treat others how you want to be treated! This is how I feel most of the time when I am in class or talking to some people here on campus. If you are going to be mean to me, I will equally be mean back.

2. She doesn't care.

Sometimes you just have to not care about the stupid and petty drama around you. Why get mixed up into it? In college so many things are going on around you. Whether it be that the guy down the hall is hooking p with your roommate, or that this new club on campus is going around doing stupid stuff, sometimes you just have to roll your eyes and not care to get mixed up into it.

3. She eats everything!

Food is wonderful and beautiful in every way! To college kids good food can become a delicacy, and therefore, you get students willing to eat anything. This is the reason why the freshman 15 exists.

4. She doesn't like listening.

Unfortunately this is very true. Most college students hate having to listen. I mean face it, we had to listen so much up until now, and we thought this was our escape. Yeah, well it's not! Some students even go into class with headphones in their ears.

5. She is super poor.

Just like every college student, she is broke as can be! Some schools don't even have free laundry — so this GIF could actually be true.

6. She thinks before she acts.

We have all been there! Sometimes we just have to think about it and tell ourselves no. Whether it means no drinking the night before a test or not hooking up with that guy in your statistics class. You have to think before you do things sometimes.

7. She knows how to make friends.

When you realize that you all are broke friends forever! But seriously, that college loan debt though!

8. She speaks the truth.

This is college in one GIF. College is not always going to be like what it looks like on the movies, and that sucks. But just like Max says, "It's life, lower your expectations."

9. Her priorities are straight.

Who doesn't put gummy bears above bills while in college? Personally I would like to say that I spend my spare money on important things. What do I actually spend my money on? New clothes, candy, and cute random things for my apartment!

10. She gets how we feel after an all-nighter.

After studying for hours and hours on end, this is how you will feel before and right after every exam. Or for my fellow theatre majors out there, after tech week.

11. But Max also knows the great feeling succeed after all that hard work.

After so long of not being able to do anything but study it's wonderful to succeed on something!

12. She understands our struggles as college students.

When thinking about the future or anything about class many students utter similar phrases. Not many exciting things outside of parties happen to college students, but just being with your friends can be enough.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
