Are you having trouble finding the perfect Valentine's Day gift this year? Valentine's Day can be tough when it comes to surprising your significant other (or yourself) with the perfect gift. For some, it has to show how much you care, and in other cases, how much you know about that person. Whether you've been dating for a few weeks or over a year, it will always be difficult finding that lovely present. Here are a few ideas on how to surprise your love this Feb. 14.

1. Flowers

Without a doubt, I can tell you that every gender loves the thoughtfulness of flowers. I know that on this day roses are the first choice, but any kind of flower works. Try even buying them in their favorite color!

2. Chocolate

Did you know that in the ancient times of Mayan and Aztec cultures, cocoa beans were used as currency? What would be a better gift than the sweet taste of melting chocolate and a little bite of history?

3. A Handwritten Love Letter

From my own personal experience, receiving and giving handwritten letters creates such a great feeling. It displays your love by putting time and effort in showing how much you care with your own words rather than a store-bought card.

4.) An Engraved Pocket Knife

If you're a lady having trouble finding your gentleman a good gift, just remember, "Boys will be boys," and boys love sharp things. What better way to show how much you care than by getting him something useful and thoughtful with his name on it? This can even go for girls if you know she needs something handy!

5. Gift Basket

If you feel like being extra generous by putting together your lover's favorite things, then turning them into a gift basket can be an amazing option and a creative way to show off your decorating skills!

6. Clothes

The best part about buying someone clothing is seeing them wearing it. If you have always wanted to see the person you love in something they might not pick first, here's your chance to introduce them to a new style! Even if they end up not liking it, it's the thought that counts.

7. Massages

Sometimes the best gift is the gift of relaxation. Both of you deserve a day to get those knots out and enjoy a nice massage. Valentine's Day is all about love and no worries.

8. Concert/Game Tickets

Your partner may be really into an artist or sports team — what better way to surprise him/her than by getting tickets to see them live?

9. Dinner

Whether it's homemade or a night out, food is always the key to someone's heart.

10. Gift Cards

It can be super difficult picking out gifts, so why not give them the choice? If you feel uncomfortable narrowing it down, let your partner pick out what's best for them.

11. Kisses!

This may not be a great gift on its own, but kisses are always an alternative way of showing someone how much you truly love them. Shower your partner with kisses on Valentine's Day this year!

I hope you found this list helpful if you were contemplating how to make your partner smile on this holiday. If you want to add to this list please, comment below — you may be able to help other people with their gift ideas!

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
