Whether it's for yourself, your peers or a large audience, writing is a wonderful thing. The beauty of watching words eloquently flow onto the paper is magical. However, let's be honest. That rarely happens. As wonderful as it is to be a writer, all writers know the struggle when it comes to not knowing what to say or how to say it.
1. When it takes 30 minutes just to come up with the first sentence.
Sometimes you just need to step back and not return for a very very long time.
2. When you think you have a great idea and then realize it's stupid.
It may seem like the only coherent sentences you are writing still don't make any sense.
3. Second-guessing yourself again and again.
It gets to a point when you don't even trust yourself.
4. When your creativity is nowhere to be found.
And you just have to wait around until it decides to come back.
5. When you decide to completely change your topic after you've already written half of your paper.
Sometimes starting over is the best decision...even if it's the hardest.
6. Coming up with a brilliant idea and then forgetting it.
If you don't write it down, it never actually exists.
7. Trying to find inspiration from literally anything.
Thanks, Bob Ross.
8. When procrastination actually takes over your life.
Next thing you know your deadline is in an hour, and you haven't written anything.
9. The thesaurus and dictionary are your closest friends.
What's another word for "help me?"
10. When you read your own work and realize just how amazing you actually are.
Love your writing as much as Kanye loves Kanye.
11. Coming back to your writing after taking a break.
Channel your inner Tina Fey, and get to work!
