Bob Ross, the painting guru and host of "The Joy of Painting,"was probably one of the most mesmerizing people to exist. Watching him paint and listening to him talk might be better than therapy. He made painting look like it was a walk in the park and everything he says makes you feel like you're the best thing in the world. While Bob Ross was painting, he always had a way of dropping some serious zen into your life that made you feel like everything is in harmony. Bob Ross is just good for the heart. Here are some of the things he has said.

1. You can do anything.

If you paint with Bob Ross, you will definitely believe you'll be able to be the next Picasso. Hell, you'd probably think you can conquer the world after watching him.

2. There are no mistakes, just lessons.

I like this idea. Every mistake you make isn't a disaster, it's just a chance to learn a lesson and do better next time. I say we replace "mistake" in the dictionary with "happy accident."

3. Talent takes practice.

Even if you don't think you have an ounce of talent in your body, you can gain talent if you work hard enough.

4. It's OK to follow your own path.

The straight and narrow path isn't for everyone. You can walk a wavy path through life if you want to. Just do you and do whatever makes you happy.

5. Beauty is all around you.

It's easy to be cynical about life. You might hate your job or you may be feeling a little blue, but it's important to remember that there is beauty all around you if you look for it.

6. It's always a good day when you're doing what you love.

If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life.

7. What you have is just right.

However you want your life to be is just right; there's no reason to second guess it.

8. You need bad days to appreciate the good.

You can't appreciate the sun without the rain. You'll have some bad days in life that will just make you appreciate the good ones more.

9. Don't hold onto things.

It's not healthy to hold onto things. Let it go and be free.

10. Surround yourself with things that make you happy.

Life is better with things that make you happy.

11. Go out and do big things in the world.

Go into the world and make some big decisions. With Bob Ross's wisdom you can do anything!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
