Now that finals are over and classes are done, most students are heading home for the summer. For a while, you are going to be overjoyed to be home. You'll spend time with your family, catch up on sleep and simply relax with all your free time. The summer goes faster than you think, though. And, in those few months, you are going to have plenty of thoughts. Here are a few of them:
1. It's so nice to be home.
This is the time when you are so excited to be home! The stress of finals is over and all you want to do is relax. Now you have the opportunity to do so.
2. SLEEP! So much sleep!
After weeks of sleepless nights, early mornings and exhausting study groups, you have all the time in the world to sleep in. Go to bed early! Wake up late! Rejuvenate!
3. I have so much free time!
No longer are you running from place to place, attempting to get to all those meetings and classes. You have all the time in the world to do whatever you want!
4. What do I do with all this free time?
Okay. Now you're home. You can do whatever you want. But what should you do? Suddenly all this free time is overwhelming.
5. What do people even do in the summer?
How do people get things accomplished in the summer? It seems like there is too much time in the day and not enough things to do. The complete opposite of college.
6. I can go swimming! Hiking! Watch Netflix!
Of course! You can do all the things you wanted to do during college! Go outside and enjoy the weather! Go see a movie! Just sit and read a good book. The world is your oyster.
7. How is it only July?
It's been a month or two of summer break and again you are feeling the itch of boredom. How is it that after a month you are feeling the urge to go back to school?
8. I need a job. Or a hobby. SOMETHING!
Teach yourself to play guitar! Apply to work at an ice cream stand! Take up needle point! No matter what it is, you need to get yourself doing something!
9. I wonder what my college friends are doing.
It seems like everyone else is having these amazing times and not falling into the slump of summer break. How is it that they have so much to do and you have nothing?
10. I never thought I would get bored of Netflix.
After hundreds of ho urs of sitting watching seasons upon seasons of shows, it seems like, you have emptied your entire Netflix queue.
11. I can't wait to go back to school.
Thank goodness it's almost time to go back to college. Seeing your friends, taking some classes... Back to a daily routine when you don't have time to be bored.
Soon enough the summer is going to end. You are going to be back at school, meeting up with your college friends and starting back in on classes. It won't be long, however, until you are wishing once again for summer vacation. This year, take your time and enjoy the break. You're going to miss it when you are gone.
