No, I didn't go somewhere exciting for Spring Break, but I still had a great, relaxing week.

11 Thoughts College Student Have When Going Home For Spring Break

Spring Break is fantastic. Lots of college students decide to journey south for a little fun in the sun. Others, like me, prefer to go home to spend a little time with the family. This list details the top eleven thoughts that college students have when they go home for break.

1. "I love my bed. I have missed my bed. I never want to leave my bed."

When you have been used to sleeping in a twin bed for the last few months, going back to your bed at home seems to be one of the biggest perks.

2. "Has that always looked like that?"

You drive down a street where a new house has been built and you wonder, has that always been there and I missed it? Or is it brand new?

3. "I don’t have to go to the caf, for a whole week!"

Being able to have home cooked meals every day is a luxury. Remember in high school when you got that every day? Those were good times.

4. "Haha, I’m on break and you’re not!"

Driving past your old high school during school hours is fun, seeing the parking lot full of cars that aren’t yours is an exhilarating feeling.

5. "I will never sleep in a twin bed again."

Too bad you have to do it again in a week...

6. "Why can’t it just be summer already?"

Spring Break is sort of a tease. You get to go home for a week, only to have to go back to school for two more months. Summer, where ya at?

7. "I can do my homework when I get back!"

Because it never fails, professors always seem to give homework, even when you’re going to be on break. Thinking you can do all of it starting at 7:00 on Sunday night before class on Monday probably isn’t going to work out in your favor.

8."I can sleep in!"

Unless you have something pressing to do in the morning, it’s likely you’ll get to sleep in, which is never a bad thing.

9. "I can’t wait to see *insert pet name/sibling name here*"

If I had a cat or a dog, I would probably be really excited to see them. I do have a little sister though, and I’m always excited to see her.

10. "Pshh, Spring Break trips are overrated"

Why spend all of your money that you probably need for tuition anyways when you can have just as much fun in a slightly colder climate?

11. "I don’t want to go back/I can’t wait to go back"

The break from homework is fantastic, and it’s nice to be back where you grew up. In this situation, it’s normally one or the other. Some people wish they had more than a week, others think they are spending too long at home.

All in all, going home for Spring Break instead of going isn’t as bad as it seems. If you’re with the right people, it can be just as much of a vacation as a warm getaway.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
