Being part of a sports team is a lot of fun, but with all the excitement and the anticipation of the upcoming year comes the most dreaded part of all our favorite sports: PRESEASON.
Get on the line for a list of thoughts that run through every athletes mind when it comes to this time of year.
1. "SH*T."
No matter what you've been doing during pre-preseason, you still don't really know what to expect until it begins.
Cue the panic.
2. The first 6 a.m. alarm that wakes you up not only startles you out of your sweet dreams, but drops you straight into your worst nightmare.
OK, exaggerating for flare but you get the point.
Me AF.
3. Me getting up for the next practice
A self portrait.
4. You'll probably throw up either before the fitness tests from nerves or after you're done, so pick your poison.
5. "How long have we been out here?"
*When there are no time restrictions during preseason*
6. "Is it normal that I can't feel my legs?"
7. "I wonder what it's like to be a NARP"
You think to yourself: "But what would you do with all that free time? Probably sleep." Ew.
8. With all of the practices, comes all the team meals. And all of the carbs!
Oprah is all of us. Also, a moment of silence for all the chocolate cake that was left uneaten due to the presence of coaches.
9. "I should've played golf"
I'm almost positive that making any sort of contact with the ball would be a struggle within itself, but they get to ride around in golf carts all day!
10. You have a love/hate relationship with ice baths. The cold never bothered us anyway?
An actual picture of athletic trainers.
11. When you finally make it to the end of preseason.
Participating in college athletics is an unforgettable experience. You gain teammates that becomes forever friends and skills that will benefit you far after you've turned the tassel on your graduation cap. No matter how gruesome the journey can be, we wouldn't trade it for the world (but maybe for unlimited bread-sticks).
