11 Things You'll Inevitably Learn During Intro To Comp Sci

Taking a computer science course is like learning a new language. It takes lots of practice and translation between you and the computer, and when either party doesn't understand what is being said, life can be very frustrating. This being said, CS is a language worth learning at least on a basic level because it teaches you a few things about the prevalent subject that you might never know otherwise. Here are just a few things that I think you will definitely learn as a computer science noob about the language.

1. Computer science is not the science of how the computer is made.

2. Computers are dumb.

3. You will have to think in a way that you have never thought before (so don't think that being a gamer can make you a genius when it comes to writing programs).

4. This.

5. Computers are perfectionists.

6. Therefore, errors are inevitable.

7. Just because you take computer science doesn't mean you will be able to fix computers.

8. Computer Science doesn't teach you how to hack computers, either.

9. The numbers 0 and 1 rule the word.

10. Nothing is more satisfying than getting your program to work.

11. Computers are pretty cool in the end.
