Let's be honest, January of 2021 was a hot mess. It felt like each week something crazy went down, and sometimes that takes a toll on how we function in our daily lives. Constantly worried about the state of our country and focusing on the news rather than focusing on ourselves. However, I'm hoping February is a better month. So, I'm gonna share a few things I'm doing to improve my happiness and mental health in the second month of 2021!
1. Make your bed every morning.
2. Dress like the girls on your pinterest boards.
Personally I spend a lot of time envying the outfits and girls I find on Pinterest. But there is no reason I can't dress like them! Even to sit around the house, it makes me feel more put together if I'm wearing a cute outfit. It doesn't even have to be expensive, you can find a lot of cool pieces at your local thrift store!
3. Don't let yourself be bored.
If you think about it, there is always something to do. Find a new book to read, make a cool recipe, or study a little extra for your next exam. Sitting in your bed doing nothing won't make you feel better.
4. Do daily affirmations.
5. Post whatever you want on social media.
Being embarrassed is a choice. Post what you want because honestly, who cares.
6. Drink a cup of water every morning and night.
7. Learn how to be alone.
If you can enjoy time by yourself, you'll be set. Truly, there is no one who will be with you for as long as yourself!
8. Move your body.
Even if it's just going for a walk around the block or having a dance party to your favorite song, moving your body is important. It doesn't have to be crazy exercise like running or weight lifting, just something to get you out of bed!
9. Write down your thoughts daily.
It doesn't have to be a novel, just a few sentences about literally anything. This helps me to organize my thoughts and clear my head at night before I go to bed.
10. Keep your room tidy.
11. Plan for your goals.
If you want to buy yourself a car, start a savings fund for it. If you want to move to a big city, start looking at apartments! It helps keep a sense of hope for your future if you know you're prepared to make your dreams happen.
