When you were a freshman, you probably dreamed of the day that you could have your own apartment. You wanted the freedom that comes with living off campus and you told yourself you would cook all of your meals. Now, you're going into your first, second or third year of living off campus and sometimes, just sometimes, you stop and think about what you miss from living in the dorms.
1. It was so convenient.
You could literally wake up 10 minutes before your class and make it on time. Now, depending on where you live, you have to wake up about two hours earlier.
2. Taking naps was possible.
Yeah, there are some amazing nap places on campus, but being able to nap in your bed is better.
3. If you had a community bath, you didn't have to worry about cleaning.
4. You didn't have to pay bills.
Now you have to be an adult and remember to pay them on time.
5. The Wi-Fi on campus was decent.
Some apartments have spotty Wi-Fi that won't let you binge watch Netflix.
6. You didn't have to worry about cooking food.
If you ever needed food, it was right around the corner.
7. You didn't have to deal with driving.
It's like you won the lottery if you find good parking on campus.
8. And you didn't have to deal with the buses.
Whether you take the West Campus, Lakeshore or Riverside bus, most of the time, there is something wrong.
