11 Things To Do When You're Snowed In

Winter is in full swing people! The snowstorms are just getting started, and so is our ability to withstand the incredibly alarming decrease in temperature. As we all know from prior experiences, it is terrible to be snowed in with nothing to do. We all get our fair share of cabin fever during the winter months, and certain activities can help us keep that feeling of complete boredom at bay.

*It is encouraged that you talk someone into getting snowed in with you so you don't go insane.*

1. Pick up crafting.

With some help from Pinterest and the craft supplies that have been in the back of your closet for a questionable amount of time, you can be up to something relatively productive and hopefully cute in no time!

2. Try out baking/cooking.

If you don't end up causing a small fire from your go at this hobby, and your stuff doesn't turn out half bad, your roommates are sure to love you for making the day a little cozier.

3. Drink a questionable amount of hot chocolate.

This is your chance to make all the types of hot chocolate that's in the videos on Facebook. If you're not into that, just see how much you and your roommate can drink until someone gets sick.

4. Organize your room.

This might be a far shot, but if you're tired of doing nothing you could organize your room. If you're anything like me, you've been swearing to do it all semester. And if you're even more like me you'll avoid this task at all costs. Who can blame ya? It's the thought that counts anyways.

5. Challenge yourself to watch as much Netflix as possible.

How rude of Netflix to even assume you'd rather be doing something else with your time. We've all watched a season in a day before, we know it can be done. Reach for the stars and go for two seasons, maybe even three.

6. Get a jump start on your assignments for a class.

It's absurd that I'd even suggest this, but on the off chance that someone is feeling ambitious and studious GOOD FOR YOU! It's not likely that it will happen, but it would be a smart move to take the time off to get ahead.

7. See how many naps you can take.

Really push your limits with this one. Don't stop anything short of three naps. Although it is encouraged that if you wake up from time to time that you do watch Netflix.

8. Play boardgames with your roommates.

Odds are, you only have one or two boardgames, so it's only a matter of time before one of you goes crazy, but it's still worth the hour of your time it takes up. If someone in the house in dangerously competitive, maybe opt for an activity that doesn't cause any friction with the people you're snowed in with.

9. Embrace your New Years Resolution and workout.

The gym is more than likely out of the question here, but there's a ton of cool YouTube channels for working out. If you're in sweats and a t-shirt you're basically half way there.

10. Try all the face masks you own.

What better time to smear stuff all over your face all day? There is none. That's the answer. So get to moisturizing, exfoliating, and all that good stuff. You'll come out of this snow day looking beautiful.

11. GO PLAY IN THE SNOW

~Duh~ it's only the most obvious snow day activity!! Grab your sled and go!

We don't get snow days often, so when we do, it's best to take advantage of the time off and embrace the chance to do some pretty awesome activities.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.

What's up Asshat,

I've composed a list of things that I wish upon you, and they're harsh and cruel. These things are things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst of enemies, not even that Starbuck's barista who always screws up my order, not even him. You fall into a whole other category of hate. You surpass Starbucks barista. Congratulations, I'm actually a pretty nice person, making you worthy of every single bit of torture I wish upon you. What are these things I wish upon you you might ask?
