Washingtonville, New York: A typical tiny town that nobody can locate on the map unless they are from the surrounding area. Ask people from Long Island or the city and they say Washingtonville is upstate NY. Ask anyone from far upstate like Rochester and they swear it to be downstate. Whatever Washingtonville may be considered, if you had any affiliation with the Orange County town, you know these to be true:

1. Weir's Ice Cream brings everyone together.

When summer comes around, you're guaranteed to go to Weir's. Sometimes you'll even find yourself to be there more than once in a day. Although the tree isn't there to climb anymore, you can always except long lines throughout the whole day, for cars to honk their horn while driving by and to wish you didn't finish your cone.

2. The traffic is killer.

Avoid at all cost town from the minute school is out, till late evening when after school activities are done otherwise you'll find yourself stuck in the same spot with no way around it.

3. You played soccer.

Something about the game that everyone in the town attempts. Maybe you started with snoopy soccer or club. Maybe it was the starting point of your career or maybe you absolutely hated it. Whatever the case, chances are you've kicked the ball around.

4. The endless debate on which elementary school is the best.

Round Hill, Taft or Little Britain? Each have pros and cons. This debate may never be solved and just when you think it... it isn't.

5. New businesses frequently.

Sad, but true. Washingtonville constantly has a new business that moves in, lasts about a year and then is replaced with the same type of business just under new management. The most heartbreaking moment was to see Joe's Video leave the plaza.

6. Friday night football games.

For a high school team that isn't good year after year, we sure do support the Wizards. If there is a Friday night home game, you attend, see your whole town and cheer for the tiniest good thing the team does.

7. Team F&J's or Team Brother Brunos?

It was one or the other with a strong feeling of attachment and disgust just for pizza. Makes sense though, pizza is pizza.

8. Too many hair and nail salons.

One or two is fine for a little variety but 5 of each is not needed. There is only so many who get their nails done on the regular.

9. Heavy rain means flooding.

Having the Moodna Creek run through the town has its perks but when a big storm comes, it comes to no surprise when the town is buried under water. School closes and people get in boats and sail around. Take advantage, have yourself a party for not having to participate in the day.

10. T&M Deli saves lives.

A bacon, egg & cheese on the weekend may be the only cure to bring you back to life and T&M may be the only place who can do it. You're never disappointed and anytime someone mentions wanting a breakfast sandwich you know they're thinking T&M without even saying it.

11. People always come back.

You may hear some complain how everyone knows each other, there is too much drama and that they can't wait to leave and never come back... but they always do. Sure, Washingtonville may be small but it has those factors that you can't stay away from forever.

Washingtonville, you may be small but you have your prominent elements.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
