Best Friends or dating?

Every girl should have a best friend that makes everyone else question their sexuality. That friend that you can count on for pretty much anything.

Whether it is because you spend so much time with each other or do random things for them, having a best friend like this is one of the greatest gifts in the world. Your social media is filled with pictures of the two of you doing great things together.

These are the things that happen when your best friend is practically your significant other:

1. Date Nights are a MUST and there have probably been flowers

Just because you don't have a boy to take you out doesn't mean you shouldn't go out. You can always count on your friend to be up for food and something fun for the evening. You even take turns paying when it comes to eating out together. There is very little "splitting the check" when you two are together.

Sometimes a girl just needs a vase of flowers. At least one of you has gotten flowers for the other at some point in the friendship. Maybe a birthday, a new job, or just having a rough week, flowers filled the kitchen counter at some point!

2. You Share Firsts Together

Whether it is big firsts like celebrating first legal drinks at the bar to small firsts like first hockey games, you can always be there for them to either show you new things or drag them along to things they have never done.

She was there for you on your first roller coaster and you were there while you enjoyed a new restaurant together. Either way, there are always adventures to be had and new things to try!

3. Your goal is to embarrass each other in public, for the fun of it

There is nothing like singing at the top of your lungs or sprinting back to the parking lot. The phrase "some things are better left unsaid" does not apply in your friendship. Running through Wal-Mart singing or saying things when the other has a boy over are a must in a friendship like this.

4. Working out together and then eating cookies

"Couples who lift together, stay together" is the best way to describe this aspect of the friendship. On the other hand, "Couples who cheat day together, stay together" also applies to the two of you. Both you and your friend have hardcore fitness goals, but you also have Girl Scout Cookies hidden on the top shelf of the cabinet.

5. Plan future vacations

Can anyone say Cancun 2018! Along with Marti Gras 2018 and Vegas Baby 2019! There are some big travel goals when it comes to the two of you. Absolutely nothing sounds better than laying on a beach or next to a pool with a margarita in your hand and your sunglasses on, except having your best friend there to do it with you.

6. You always yell "Honey, I'm home" when you walk in the door.

For any roommates, if you don't do this, you are wasting a perfectly good opportunity to be annoying and hilarious all at the same time. Every time, I imagine the 80's sitcoms of couples. The man comes home from a long day at work and the woman runs out of the kitchen. Realistically, I just came home from the gym and she is laying in her bed eating a brownie straight from the container.

7. The day isn't complete until both of you have told each other about the day spent apart from each other.

You know that when you get home from your job, they will be there to listen to all of the drama of work. They hate all of the coworkers that you hate, even though they have never met them. After a while, they will chime in with things that happened two weeks ago. You tell every detail about your day to them and then they tell you about theirs.

8. Constant tagging in "couples" memes saying "THIS IS US!"

When you see cute couple memes on Facebook, you can be sure that one of you will tag the other. Whether it is supposed to be just for friends or a couple, there is a ton of tagging on Facebook.

Occasionally, you might feel bad for tagging her in 15 things on Facebook while she is at work, but eh, at least she will have some great things to laugh about when she gets off work. The text messages between you are also filled with things that are slightly too inappropriate to actually tag in on Facebook, so you save it and send it instead.

9. Speaking of Facebook, there are tons of "appreciation" or "#wcw" posts.

If she hasn't been your "#wcw" at least one time, are you even really friends? Of course, for those posts, it has to be a picture that you screenshotted from Snapchat. It isn't complete if it isn't cross-eyed, filled with double chins, and absolutely no makeup.

Appreciation posts are great for when your best friend does something really cool like scoring the intern that she wanted, getting a promotion at work, or maybe she just took out the trash. Social media is filled with the two of you going out to eat, hanging out at the lake, and chowing down on pizza in one of your beds while watching Mean Girls.

10. You take full advantage of every holiday together because it is just so much fun!

You spent hours looking through "couples" Hall-o-Ween costumes together trying to figure out what to be. You may or may not have been a devil and angel pair or something equally as cheesy for Hall-O-Ween and loved every second of it.

You also went to lunch and a movie on Valentine's day because who else would celebrate Gal-entine's Day with You! There is no doubt that your Valentine's Day was filled with giggling at 50 Shades Darker and then getting food together.

To take it to the next level, you probably spent Thanksgiving and Christmas together as well. Your parents might have even got her a Christmas gift, because she might as well be part of the family.

11. There is a little jealousy when you spend time with other people.

When one of you actually does start dating someone, you can count on the jealousy to fill the room. Comments like "You just spent the night with them, stay home." will be common if you find yourself spending too much time with the boy.

You know that the second you get rid of them, all of the comments that they have silenced in support of your relationship will come out as soon as they are welcomed. "I never liked him anyway," will be the first comment after she makes sure you are okay post-breakup. There will be ice cream, wine, and commentary of everything she didn't like about him.

If you read this and this doesn't at least halfway describe your relationship with your best friend, then I am truly sorry. There is no greater friendship than that person that you can be totally yourself with. If you read this and thought of one person through the entire thing, make sure to share this and tag them in it!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
