Summer is the perfect time to be adventurous, try new things and make amazing memories. On the surface, Massachusetts may not seem like the most exciting place to spend your summer, but after a little digging I was able to find a few awesome things to add to my summer bucket list.

1. Six Flags New England - Agawam, Massachusetts.

If you love adrenaline, then this is the ultimate day for you. They are best known for the Superman ride which reaches speeds up to almost 80 mph, and they recently added the virtual reality experience, which puts you right into the world of Metropolis.

2. Escape Rooms.

Remember the escape the room game we all used to play on the computer? Well now it's a reality. They can get pretty pricey, but Groupon usual has some great deals.

3. Beach Day.

We are so lucky to live so close to so many beautiful beaches right in our own state. Salisbury, Hampton and Newburyport have great beaches, shopping and, most importantly, food. There are also some great deals on whale watches on Groupon as well.

4. Richardson's - Middleton, Massachusetts.

The perfect end to a summer night, Richardson's provides ice cream for a lot of ice cream shops around Mass., but it always tastes better when you get it right from the source. They have a lot of things to do while you eat your ice cream like look at their hundreds of cows or play a round of mini-golf.

5. Wachusett Mountain State Reservation - Princeton, Massachusetts.

This is a great local place to spend the day with 17-miles of walking and hiking trails. Once you reach the top there are a lot of great views such as Boston, Vermont, Mount Monadnock and Mount Greylock.

6. Boston, Massachusetts.

There are so many things to do in Boston. It is always fun to shop on Newbury Street or Faneuil Hall, but if you wanted a bit more of the historical side of Boston the Duck Tours are great because they are informative but the tour guides are very entertaining. Then at night check out The Lawn On D, they have glow-in-the-dark swings, giant jenga, ping pong, cornhole and food trucks.

7. Bruce Freedom Bike Trail.

This trail is a great place to walk or bike; it connects Lowell, Chelmsford, Westford, Carlisle, Acton, Concord, Sudbury and Framingham. It is about 25-miles long with multiple places to start.

8. Red Sox Game

This is a must. There is nothing better than getting to Fenway Park and watching the sunset behind the stadium while enjoying a Fenway Frank.

9. Wrentham Outlets - Wrentham, Massachusetts.

You will not leave the Wrentham Outlets empty-handed. They have more than 170 name brand stores that offer at least 25-percent off retail prices. Some of the featured stores include Tory Burch, Coach, Michael Kors and Saks Fifth Avenue.

10. New England Dragway - Epping, New Hampshire.

Although it is not in Mass., the track is not far over the NH border. This dragstrip is celebrating it's 50th year of fast cars burning rubber down the quarter-mile. Some of their upcoming events include the "Jet Cars Under the Stars," which features cars powered by jet engines!

11. Mendon Drive-In - Mendon, Massachusetts.

The best thing to do during the summer is to be outside, so the drive-in is the perfect place for a warm summer night. Grab some lawn chairs, blankets, snacks and pack your car with friends because most places charge by the car.

12. Deerfield Valley Zip Lining - Charlemont, Massachusetts.

Why wouldn't you want to fly through the trees and explore nature in a whole new way?

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
