Springfield is home to the Dr. Seuss National Museum, along with the Springfield Science Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts. Also worth checking out are the Children's Museum at Holyoke and the Emily Dickinson Museum in Amherst.

8. Check out a hall of fame

This is similar to the last idea, but this one is perfect for sports lovers! Believe it or not, Western Massachusetts was the birthplace of both basketball and volleyball. Check out the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield and/or the Volleyball Hall of Fame in Holyoke!

9. Watch some fireworks

Western Massachusetts has fireworks all summer long that are the perfect way to spend a night with friends, family, or your significant other!

10. Take a trip to Six Flags New England

If you're from Western Mass you probably laugh when people go to Six Flags because it's probably somewhere you went as a tween. But hey, we are lucky to have a quality amusement park here in our backyard! If you don't want to buy a season pass, a day trip is fun! There's probably new rides from the last time you went too!
