11 Things To Do By The End Of Freshman Year

We are currently halfway through April and that means the semester is almost over. For us lucky freshman, that means that a pivotal year in our lives is almost over as well. There are some things you have to do before you leave the school in 3 weeks time.

1. Go to Zinneken's

If you didn't go with your DataMatch back in February, you need to walk over to the famous waffle place. It is good for any time of day. For those freshmen in the quad, this could be the last time you're willing to make the trek all the way down Mass. Ave

2. Go to a Study Break

Your proctors and PAFs put a lot of effort to give you lucky freshmen food every week and you should take advantage of their creativity. Plus, this is one of the last places you can bond with your freshmen entryway

3. Get a Milkshake at Boston Burger Company

Honestly, if you haven't gotten a milkshake yet, you are seriously missing out and should immediately seek help for your lack of love of the best food out there.

4. Take a Selfie with John Harvard

Some of us think that we are too cool when it comes to pictures with John Harvard. However, it's really a right of passage for every Harvard student to document their lives here with a picture with Johnny

5. Jump in a Tourist's Picture

To add on with all of the John Harvard Statue's fun, us Harvard students are special since we have so many tourists wandering around campus. Don't deny it, we've all wanted to photobomb a picture of some unsuspecting tour group. So do it.

6. Leave ur dorm at 1:06 for a 1 pm class

We only have a week left of school and this is the last time we can truly appreciate Harvard time. No matter what House we are in next year, we can't leave this late for a class ever again. Leave at 1:06 for a 1 pm, or 12:06 for a 12 pm, or 11:06 for a 11...

7. Jump in the Charles River

Although this activity is better suited for August, it is one that you need to be able to tell your friends and family about when you get home. It is a right of passage for every Harvard Student, so wait until it gets a little warmer in May and release all your finals stress by jumping!

8. Eat Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner all in One Day at the Berg

We are all guilty of not taking full advantage of the best dining hall in the world. The food may be average, but the aesthetics are out of the world. Since it is only for freshmen, these are the last few days we can appreciate time with our class before we all begin eating at our houses.

9. Complete the 2 AM Greasy Food Quadfecta

Harvard Square at 2AM is essential in every college student's life. Greasy american food (Tasty Burger), greasy italian food (Pinnochio's), greasy chinese food (Hong Kong) and greasy mexican food (Felipe's) is all readily available at the place we call home. If you haven't been to all four spend ur next couple weeks going and enjoying yourself. You are in college after all.

10. Watch all the Harvard Movies

Get your blocking group and have a movie night watching The Social Network, Legally Blonde, Love Story and all other great movies based on Harvard. These are your last few weeks with them until August, so appreciate the time you have left.

11. Get out of the Harvard Bubble!

Although Harvard is great, you are also leaving behind the great city of Boston! Go to Fenway Park, shop on Newbury Street, walk the Freedom Trail; there are things for everyone!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
