1. You have slept in each other's bed

Whether they are in it or not, and if they are in it then it is a sister snuggle party. Let's face it, everything is much more comfortable when it is not yours (hence, why my boyfriend has no more sweatshirts).

2. You talk a certain way only when you're around each other

A made up accent that neither of you know where it came from or if you speak fluently in movie quotes/inside jokes that your parents do not understand.

3. dragging her to things that you do not like to do.

Because everything is more fun when you have your best friend by your side, and it is even better when you know they have nothing better to do.

4. You can drag her to things that she does not like to do.

You do not care if she hates shopping, Victoria's Secret is having a 7 for $27 deal and you need someone to control you from spending three hours at the mall and blowing your entire life's savings.

5. Brutally honest advice.

She will tell you when you would be better off wearing a hat to hide a bad hair day, as you would tell her when a boy is not worth crying over because he was not really that cute! Sisters are never afraid to tell the other when they could use a little help.

6. You have the best black mail on each other

The supply of ugly pictures to post on Twitter on their birthday is endless. Thank you mom for always insisting on taking pictures all the time, especially during our awkward phases. Also, thank you snapchat for always having the sender forget the receiver can screenshot any/all embarrassing photo.

7. Endless support and free therapy

No one listens better than your sister when you're feeling down. Also, no one has better/funnier insults on your bitchy friend or dumb boyfriend than your sissy.

8. You will never be bored when you're at home and all your friends are at school.

Because binge watching Grey's Anatomy with your mom for days is not as much fun as drooling over Dr. McDreamy with your sister.

9. Every now and then you feel guilty for how horribly you treated her when you were little.

listening in on phone calls, borrowing clothes without asking, acting smug when mom and dad took my side-- oh wait I still do that.

10. You always have a go-to when your social media is a little dry.

Sister pictures on instagram always get the most likes (which makes you look popular and like you have friends). Posting crazy sister adventures on your snapchat story makes your life look interesting and always busy (which, again makes you look like you have friends). Also, no one tags you in funnier tweets than your sister (which makes you look like you have friends.. are you sensing a theme here?).

11. You have a best friend for life

There will forever be someone to stick up for you, even when she knows you're wrong. There will forever be someone to listen to your problems with an open and understanding heart. There will always be someone to make you laugh when you have a bad day. Because you have a sister, you will never be alone.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
