Being from the West Side of Washington, there are a lot of things that I miss about home. I miss some things so much so that I absolutely wish that they could magically transport from my hometown to here in a second. However, I know that I do not want to drive six hours to go home just for one thing. Hell, I don't even want to drive eight miles over to Pullman to get Dairy Queen -- but I still begrudgingly do it. My point is, we are such a unique community here in Moscow, in the middle of the Palouse, and sometimes seemingly in the middle of nowhere, that there are just some things that little old Moscow needs RIGHT NOW.
Restaurants
Red Robin, Yuuuum!
Ummm hello? Who doesn't want a Clucks'n'Fries right now? Or a huge tower of onion rings with an assortment of dipping sauces? I'm sorry but BOTTOMLESS FRIES. C'mon!
Olive Garden
I would and could LIVE off of soup, salad, and breadsticks. How about a "Tour of Italy" without massive amounts of additional student debt? SIGN ME UP.
Burger King
Give the people what they want, and what they want are chicken fries.
Jack in the Box
BRING BACK JACK AND HIS TACOS!
Dairy Queen
Blizzards are bomb, and I wish I could get them without having to go across borderlines.
Panera Bread
Coffee, pastries, soups and sandwiches. Panera would be THE place to be for all sorts of things -- especially group projects!
Shops
Victoria's Secret
Where in the hell can I get a nice bra around here? Because I cannot seem to find one anywhere in the Palouse Mall.
Forever 21
Because Rue 21 is just not cutting it, as much as we like to pretend it is -- but we all know it's not.
Sephora
We got a lot of women that would kill for access to quality make-up here on the Palouse that doesn't come from Macy's or had to be ordered online. A Sephora would be boss for all those ladies that like to play around with their looks.
Shopping Centers
Target
Literally all people would benefit from having a Target here. I once bought a kiddy pool at target for $8 and it was a glorious purchase. And their whole holiday section --cannot even. Plus, we could get a third Starbucks, Target is just the most basic of shopping centers.
Fred Meyer
If Moscow got a Fred Meyer, I do not even know what I would do with myself. Their bedding section is my favorite and whatever a person needs "You'll find it at Fred Meyer!"
*Disclaimer: I am a huge fan of Moscow and it's one of a kind culture -- but with installations of chains such as Dutch Bros, Panda Express and Buffalo Wild Wings, what else are they willing to bring into the Moscow area? Sometimes we all miss things from home, and these are just a few of the many things students at U of I wish they had access to, rather than having to travel far distances to get it.
