I love cold weather! Any season where it's cold outside makes me jump for joy. My heart is happy when I can step outside and see my breath fog up in the air. Even though we're at the tail end of the summer and still have a month to go until autumn, here are 11 things to get you psyched about this coming season.
1. The Turning of the Leaves
The color of the trees speak for themselves their radiance and beauty.
2. Anything Pumpkin Flavored
Pumpkin butter. Pumpkin tea. Pumpkin granola. Pumpkin pasta sauce. Pumpkin chapstick. And of course pumpkin pie!
3. Bonfires
Bonfires are perfect for those days when the brisk wind blows and the leaves are falling. You can also roast marshmallows and make S'mores!
4. Fall Fashion
Scarves, sweaters, Uggs, mittens and gloves, hats, hoodies, jeans - need I go on?
5. Pumpkin Spice Lattes
We've already covered pumpkin flavored things, but pumpkin spice lattes deserve their own line on this list. Even on a bad day, a pumpkin spice latte can cheer me up.
6. Apple Orchards and Hay Rides
Apple orchards are the best! You can pick your own apples, drink hot apple cider, and some orchards even have hay rides.
7. Fuzzy Socks
As the weather gets colder, the nights grow dark sooner. Fuzzy socks can help make the darkness and cold a little more cheerful.
8. Hot Soup
There's nothing better than a bowl of hot soup on a cold autumn day.
9. Jumping in a Pile of Leaves
This is an autumn tradition that you won't want to miss - raking a bunch of leaves into a giant pile and then throwing yourself into mid-air on top of them!
10. Smelling the Crisp Autumn Air
Every season has a smell. You know the smell of autumn - crisp, earthy, with a hint of decaying leaves and smoke.
11. Going to the Pumpkin Patch
This activity never grows old. Even the adults, as well as the children, can have fun picking out the perfect pumpkin to display on their front porch.
I hope this list made you excited for this next season!
"A wind has blown the rain away and blown the sky away and all the leaves away, and the trees stand. I think, I too, have known autumn too long." - E. E. Cummings
