11 Things I Love About BGSU.
http://hoopdirt.com/

For those of you who go to BGSU, you know the amount of school spirit that the students have for it is enormous. It's almost beyond words how passionate students are about BGSU BUT it's not shocking. Bowling Green is a place where people feel at home and accepted no matter who you are or what you stand for (aside from Bible Bob telling you you're going to hell). However, you may be asking: what makes BG a truly magical place? I can answer that with 11 simple answers.

1. The Atmosphere of Downtown.

One of the greatest things about BG is the atmosphere of Downtown. It's homey. It's not a big city where you have to watch your back every time you walk off campus. It's a place where you feel safe. It's small but it definitely gives you big feels.

2. Taco Bell on the Weekends.

Obviously, I've had my fair share of nights spend at taco bell but it's absolutely hilarious when you're on the other side watching the crowd at Taco Bell. If you have never felt the absolute NEED of Taco Bell in the middle of night, you truly haven't experienced BG.

3. Holiday's.

People travel from all different schools over Ohio just to spend the holiday's at BG. I have never partaken in these adventures but I have watched my friends and it truly makes me happy to see them enjoying themselves. It's something that you can only experience in college. It's something that you can only experience at BG.

4. The Professors.

(Some) of the professors at BG are the most passionate, caring and intelligent people I have ever met. They truly care about their jobs and their students which is something that is hard to come by. Because of the professors I have had these past three years, I have had the best education available.

5. Greek Life.

To put it simply: Greek life has made me the person I am today. It has helped me grow, explore and find myself in ways that I never thought possible. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you have helped me with.

6. The People.

I have met some of THE most amazing people because BG. I have met my best friends and people I will want in my life 50 years from now. I have met smart, caring, and loyal friends that I know will continue to be in my life even after graduation.

7. SicSic.

I may hate things in costumes but the school spirit they possess is unreal. Plus, I'm not gonna lie; getting candy thrown at me isn't the worst thing in the world.

8. The Campus.

The campus is truly beautiful. Every season shows the students how wonderful and spectacular campus really is. It's just big enough that you don't see the same people every day and that's all any one can truly ask for.

9. The Union Food.

I may have gained the freshman 15 but I would never trade Chickendipity for the world.

10. Dunkin Donuts.

Having a Dunkin Donuts on campus truly makes this place amazing. I love donuts. I love BG.

11. The School Spirit.

Like I mentioned before, the people who attend BG love BG and that is something amazing. The amount of pride people have for this school just shows how amazing BGSU really is.

If you're like me, there are days that BG just isn't where you want to be but at the end of the day, it's your second home and everything that is has to offer makes nothing else matter.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
