Why being a fraternal twin is the best.

11 Things Fraternal Twins Want You To Know

"Twins have a special bond. They feel safer with each other than with their peers." -Jeanne Phillips

Being a twin is one of the best things ever, but being a fraternal twin is even more incredible. You automatically come into the world with this best friend that you have already grown with and know so much about, but you are so different. Not everything is a competition; you are two separate people who have always been together. The bond is indescribable.

1. Yes, we really are twins; no, we are not lying to you.

No, this is not a joke. No, we don’t look alike; no, we don’t act alike. Our hair's a little different, our eye color is a little different, our height is different. We are twins, promise.

2. Yes, like real twins, like born at the same time and everything.

Again, not lying. We can even show you a birth certificate if you’d like.

3. No, twin telepathy is not a real thing, but we are close.

Hmmm… twin telepathy. Nope. Even twins cannot read each other’s minds, but we do have a special bond. We do not know life without each other, and we cannot even imagine life without each other.

4. Just because we don’t look alike doesn’t mean we don’t still have the bond identical twins have.

Identical twins seem to be inseparable, and so are fraternal twins. Twins are all the same; none of us knows life without the other one.

5. No, we do not dress alike, and do not plan on it.

It was cute until we turned 6… then it became really obnoxious.

6. Heck no, I do not want to have twins. I have seen how much work it takes to take care of two babies. Nope, one at a time is enough.

Twins are tough; double trouble is a very true statement. Twins are very cool, but unfortunately too often twins do not get their own identity, which is sad. But no, I would love to have twins. It's tough, but twins have a bond no one else could ever explain.

7. Yes, we think alike sometimes, and we do share personality traits, too. Not all twins are the same.

Once again, too often twins are known as one. A twin is a different person, with their own brain, desires, needs… be sure to treat them like it.

8. Yes, it matters who is older.

Yes, I am older, and yes, that one minute counts. I am the older sibling, and she is younger. Yes, I take advantage of that all the time -- definitely the most important 60 seconds ever.

9. We will never admit that we love being twins.

Yes, we both love it. It is so much cooler than just having a sister, or brother. You have someone that you literally entered the world with. They were the first person you ever knew, and you grew together before life on earth even began. How cool is that? No, we will not ever admit that to you.

10. No, we do not do everything together.

My twin and I are very different. She is extremely introverted, while I am extremely extroverted. She would rather sit on the couch and watch TV, while I would rather be out hanging out with friends. Even though our personalities are different, we still end up always coming back to each other at the end of the day.

11. Yes, she is my best friend.

Another thing we probably will not admit to you, just because.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant

There's always chaos in the restaurant business.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant
Brisanis

Working in the restaurant industry is possibly the most fundamentally challenging occupation I have ever experienced when it comes to hospitality and customer service. When you go to a five-star restaurant you expect the time of your life, a two hour getaway, a walk through another time period (rustic Italy, France, Spain, etc), or simply a honeymoon undergo. What you don't see are the behind the scenes scut work: carrying trays, polishing glassware and silverware, kitchen chaos, the list is endless. Now, I'm not saying being a host, server, or bartender is the worst thing in the whole wide world, there are definitely worse things. But the fact of the matter is that it isn't always sunshine and rainbows. In the two years that I have spent in restaurant and customer service, I have spoken my share of expletives, yelled at kitchen staff, and dealt with not-so-happy guests. It isn't easy to keep a bright and shiny smile on your face when all you want to do is choke every person who walks near you. Anyone who has spent even two weeks working in a restaurant understands the rigor and stress that comes with it. Restaurant culture is a tiny world in and of itself that operates on its own principles and creates its own society. It even has its own language. The sayings "runner", "corner", and "on a bus" wouldn't make sense to anyone otherwise. My mother and I both work in a restaurant and the best advice I can give someone going out to eat is to treat us like people. Yes...believe it or not we are people, people. Say "please" and "thank you", or stack your cleared plates before a busser gets to the table. Trust me, the gesture goes a lot farther than you may think.

So, if you work in a restaurant, you can relate with the following points. If not, check out how the brain of a restaurant service (or any customer service) worker actually works. See if you can identify any crazy weird habits your friends have a tendency to partake in.

One of the scariest things we will ever face in our life is going to college. Many of us move away to a new town, join new organizations, and make new friends. We are expected to study, have a social life, relationships, maybe work, and be healthy. It seems pretty easy to do, and in high school all we wanted to do was graduate and move on to this next chapter of our lives. If you are in high school, here are some things that you can learn from before you get to college. If you have already been through your freshman year of college, hopefully you can relate to the things I have learned in college.
