Disney movies were a staple of my childhood. Honestly, they're still a staple of my life today. Whenever I want to reminisce, sing some songs, and have a chill night with my friends, Disney movies are my go to. You can't go wrong with a Disney movie. Plus, we can learn so much from Disney movies. Here's a list of 11 things Disney movies taught me.

1. Beauty and the Beast taught me...

...that beauty is found within. ALSO, that it's totally sane if your sidekicks are a talking candle, clock, and teapot.

2. Snow White taught me...

...not to trust strangers. BUT, sleep on their beds if you need to. Don't ask questions.

3. Sleeping Beauty taught me...

...to marry strangers you meet in the woods. COMPLETELY NORMAL, guys. Aurora is sane, I promise.

4. Jungle Book taught me...

...all about British imperialism. Seriously guys. ALSO, snakes are THE worst.

5. Aristocats taught me...

...ladies don't start fights. BUT, they can finish them.

6. Peter Pan taught me...

...to trust strange flying boys that come into my room while I'm sleeping. BUT, any guy with a hook is BAD NEWS.

7. Tangled taught me...

...don't trust strangers. Hit them with a frying pan, in fact. UNLESS, they can give you something you want. In that case, marry them.

8. Cinderella taught me...

...if your family treats you terribly, sneak out. ALSO, fairy godmothers make the best gowns. Gotta get me one of those.

9. Mary Poppins taught me...

...to let strangers babysit my kids. AND, if she can take them to godknowswhere during the day, EVEN BETTER. Give her all the paychecks.

10. Alice in Wonderland taught me...

...to eat and drink everything in sight. EVEN if the signs on the cake and drink seem SLIGHTLY suspicious, it's probably fine.

11. Toy Story taught me...

...that my toys are living, talking things. AND, some are evil. ALSO, being in the Barbie aisle at the toy store is just about the best thing ever.

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement. Before that day, I never really thought about being a friend to myself, and at the time, I didn't really know what it meant. Now, I realize that you can't fully be there for other people unless you're there for yourself, too. You can't show up for others until you're willing to show up for yourself.

Here are five things everyone should learn in order to be a better friend to themselves. These steps are hard, but they're so worth it.
