We have all been in this type of situation. We find that person we adore, we continuously grow feelings for them, we spend time with them, we fall even harder, and at the end it ends up in happy way, or a "rip my heart out and throw it on the floor, and have that someone step all over it repeatedly." Everyone has their own story, but we are all able to agree that at one point in time (and I do not care if you hate country music) a country love song described exactly how we felt to a T! So without further adieu, here are 11 things that country love songs taught us:
1. "I Will Always Love You" by Dolly Parton
For starters, many of you may know this song performed by Whitney Houston, but originally written and sang by Dolly Parton, "I Will Always Love You." When you first lay eyes on that person, and you get a "butterfly" feeling in your stomach, right at that moment, you know you will always love them. No matter the distance, no matter the heartache, no matter the time, you will always love them.
2. "Always On My Mind" by Willie Nelson
As Willie Nelson would say you are "Always On My Mind." Sometimes you can't always play
3. "Sweet Dreams" by Patsy Cline
May she rest in peace, the influential "Nashville sound" Patsy Cline sang "Sweet Dreams." Sometimes you know you're never going to be a part of this person's life, but you can't help but dream about them. It sucks!
4. "When You Say Nothing At All" by Alison Krauss
Performed by both Keith Whitey and Alison Krauss, "When You Say Nothing At All." Sometimes you don't have to be doing anything, you just have to be there, and the feeling in the room is understood. A look, a touch, or a smile, "you say it best when you say nothing at all."
5. "Remember When" by Alan Jackson
Reminiscing is always fun, looking back on all the memories shared as
6. "Hello Darlin'" by Conway Twitty
Have you ever run into someone that you used to have such strong feelings for? Well as
7. "From This Moment On" by Shania Twain
"From this moment, as long as I live, I will love you" sang Shania Twain in one of her many hit songs "From This Moment On." Declaring your love from now till forever, you are blessed because they have become a part of your life, and have impacted you for the better.
8. "I Can Love You Better" by Dixie Chicks
Sometimes you are in love with someone, but they're taken. You feel angry inside because you see them with that other person, and you are ready to lay it out on the table about how much better they'd be if they were with you, and who could sing a song about this none other than the Dixie Chicks with "I Can Love You Better.
9. "I Told You So" by Randy Travis
Not all of us have heard it directly told to us, but we've all heard the saying "don't come crawling back to me," well, that's just what Randy Travis did in "I Told You So." Thinking you're alright, and then suddenly remorse kicks in, and you think about the possibilities out there, but you get dirt kicked on you when that person laughs and says "I told you so..."
10. "Bless The Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts
We've all had that feeling that we're never gonna find that special someone, we're gonna live alone forever, etc., but then all of a sudden this person appears and makes you do a complete 360 of the way you're seeing life now. You're thinking "hey, I might not actually be alone, and I might be with this person;" well no one could have relayed that message better than Rascal Flatts with "Bless the Broken Road."
11. "Stay" by Sugarland
Unfortunately, love hurts. It's filled with pain, anger, and heartbreak. However, love doesn't show until you want it to. Until you show that person exactly how much love you have, they won't understand just how much you care for them. Sugarland's "Stay" expresses the love they have for that special someone. They non-stop trying, the constant beg, they nonstop showing of affection, the way it messes us up; all because of one person. That is love. Love isn't just about the simple things, it takes these hardships to show what true love is all about.
